I'm from the faraway lands of Britain and so I watch PAL DVDs. I also no can do the math, so I'm really struggling at creating sync files.

I have tried to get my head around making a sync for 300, but I really just can't do it. Can I use my pitiful failures to urge the geniuses and wizards of England's Rifftrax viewers to really start working on syncs? I could supply a few Rifftrax as gifts, I guess. But not too many. As I mentioned earlier, I'm English and as such I am poor.

So uh... help?

Someone on Twitter has created a .sync file for Fifth Element Ultimate Edition. Will post it here once I've seen it.

Did this sync file ever turn up?  I would like to use my Ultimate Edition disc, but the thought of modifying the sync file myself makes me tired.

Topcat

SAW PAL region 4 dvd
(might work on UK copies if the title id is in the same place)

Saw_PAL_RiffTraxPresents.sync

riffdelay_init=152.000
riffstart=23.00
time_offset=0.999950000
title_ID=3

simple once i realised what the first 2 numbers meant and how to calculate the starting times, this is my easier explaination of what to do
1stly figure out the time that 3,2,1 pause happens on the MP3 = 2 min 55 sec or 175 secs in (for the Saw_PAL_RiffTraxPresents.mp3)

2ndly figure out how far into the movie the pause is meant to happen = 23.00 seconds in (in the case of SAW it's when twisted pictures logo goes black)
This is the riffstart number

3rdly subtract riffstart from the 1st number you figured out (175 - 23 = 152.000)
This is the riffdelay_init number

then follow the instructions given to figure out the time_offset which involves very little trail and error

Hi,

I know I am new and stuff, however I already have a request for you. I have recently bought the PAL version of Battlefield Earth and the Rifftrax needed to make this movie bearable. Since my pitiful math skills are not enough to master the art of creating a perfect sync file I would like to enquire whether any of you fine gents had the luck to create or obtain by any means such a file.

I would be eternally grateful for a working sync file for this movie and might consider naming my first-born after whoever provides this file.

Best Regards,
Andi

For Halloween:

riffdelay_init=121.000
riffstart=17.00
time_offset=1.000900

For Star Trek VI:

riffdelay_init=114.300
riffstart=24.00
time_offset=1.001000

Hi there,

Second post, and I already have a request: sync files for the Batman Forever/Batman and Robin riffs.

(Unless they've already been posted. If they have, I apologize.)

I'll go over to the newbie thread, now...

Thanks!

NormalView!

I tried making a sync file for Captain America but the riffPlayer (for Mac OS X) wouldn't play the movie correctly so I wasn't able to figure out the last parameter. I tried ripping the DVD and then pointing riffplayer at the ripped copy (by putting a symbolic link to the DVD folder in /Volumes) but riffPlayer gave some error message, even though that has worked for me on one other DVD. Anyway, here's what I have so far:

riffdelay_init=139.00
riffstart=33.00
time_offset=1.00000

(time_offset is probably wrong)
