Pak-Man

Shouldn't this have ended with the revelation that Pak is actually a Headphone wearing Shiba Inu? ;)

So it was all your work!

No Tails? Phooey.

Almost had me fooled with that Navi thing. No idea who it is or how popular. I can't find my list right now, but I think Mario was my # 3. He's a classic, but I gave Luigi a higher ranking because he wears green and he's more of an underglorified alternative character.

Thanks for the countdown.
I know you are but what am I

Doctor Who?

Pretty good list,I did pretty well.

Here is who I voted for.

1)Mario

21)Marshall Law(Tekken series)
22)Tony Hawk
23)Maniac(Wing Commander series)
24)Kane(Command and Conquer series)
25)Knuckles(sonic the Hedgehog series)

Worst

1)Titus(Final Fantasy X)
2)Busby(the busby series)

Invader_quirk

Sweet. Totally called that top five.  ;D

And yeah, I gasped when I saw Navi. One second later I felt stupid.

Great list, but GladOS should've been higher. Best character I've ever encountered by far. No other character comes close to being as emotionally engaging.

Pak-Man

I think the list went well. I made a few choices earlier on that made entry-writing WAY longer than it had to be. The chronicling of the characters' visual development throughout the games, and the list of every game the character made an apperance in took way longer than I thought it would. Totally worth it, though. :^)

Here's my list:

1. Pac-Man
2. Q*Bert
3. Ness
4. Phoenix Wright
5. Samus Aran
6. Sam & Max
7. Link

I don't remember much of my list, just know it wasn't a very good one. Sad to see no mention of my number 1 choice though, Protoman. I've always liked him more than Megaman. Plus he has a sweet theme song.

Relaxing Dragon

Yeah, that seems about right for the Top 5. I have no good excuse for leaving GLaDOS off my list, she just slipped my mind :-[

Little disappointed some of mine didn't make the list. I figured my #1 wouldn't (fingers were crossed for a #50 place for something like that), but I'm rather surprised at the lack of Wesker, 47, and the Prince (and where's the Fisher love?).

1. Lionel Starkweather (Manhunt)
2. Andrew Ryan (Bioshock)
3. Raz (Psychonauts)

4. Albert Wesker (Resident Evil)
5. Agent 47 (Hitman)
6. Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell)
7. Grit (Advance Wars)
8. Link (The Legend of Zelda)
9. Big Daddy (Bioshock)

10. Alma (F.E.A.R.)
11. Captain Olimar (Pikmin)

5: Bowser (The Super Mario Bros. Series)
6: Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
7: Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)

Lemming (The Lemmings Series)
Worms (The Worm Series)
Arcturus Mengsk (StarCraft Series)
Vivi (Final Fantasy 9)
Sunflower (Plants VS Zombies)
And the list goes on...

Bear in mind I've never really been into handhelds, when the great N64/PlayStation split came I went PlayStation and have never strayed much, my PCs have never been gaming powerhouses and I don't like playing on PCs, and finally I'm too poor to really get into this generation of games.  So I'm pretty behind with the times.

This was a fun list that also lead to a lot of great videos that I otherwise never would have seen.  So thanks Pak-Man for doing the this and for everyone who contributed!

24. Compound - 2 Entries - 25 Points

Dead last.

Kinda got the felling that I was the outlier when Falco and Kirby showed up, let alone Q*Bert. I'll post my list in a second, but first....

Compound's List of Most Disliked Video Game Characters!

Tingle (Zelda)

I'm required by law to be at least 500 feet from you at all times, Link.

List Of Games:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Oracle of Ages
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker
Four Swords Adventures
Zelda: The Minish Cap
Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland
Tingle's Balloon Fight
Irodzuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip (lit. "Ripening Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love"),
Super Smash Bros. Melee

Trivia:

Tingle is a short, paunchy 35-year-old [5][6] man who is completely obsessed with "forest fairies"[6] and dresses up in a green costume, slightly resembling that of the main character, Link. He also wears tight red shorts and a necklace with a clock that is permanently stuck at four o'clock. Tingle is normally seen floating around on his red balloon, drawing and selling maps for his father, who runs the Southern Swamp pictograph contest and sees Tingle as "a fool". He is also known for his catchphrase: "Tingle, Tingle, Kooloo-Limpah!" Tingle appears to have a fixation for Rupees and other similar collectibles, such as Force Gems in Four Swords Adventures and Kinstones in The Minish Cap. In Majora's Mask, Tingle can be found around Termina selling maps, and in The Wind Waker, he translates Triforce Maps for a high price, among other things. Tingle's fixation for Rupees is explained in the Nintendo DS game Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, where it is stated that Tingle needs Rupees to live, as a result of a curse placed on him by Uncle Rupee. Tingle has many brothers and in The Wind Waker and the Minish Cap there are various secrets of them.

Why I Be Hatin':

Let's see. We have a 35 year old wearing a body suit, when something a bit more form concealing would be much better appreciated. Do I really need to continue? Tingle, Tingle, Kooloo-Limpah! Oh yeah. That too.

Magikarp (Pokemon)

See what he's doing now? He does that much in the game too.

List Of Games:

Pokemon Red
Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Yellow
Pokemon Gold
Pokemon Silver
Pokemon Crystal
Pokemon Ruby
Pokemon Sapphire
Pokemon Emerald
Pokemon Fire Red
Pokemon Leaf Green
Pokemon Diamond
Pokemon Pearl
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Heart Gold
Pokemon Soul Silver
Pokemon Snap
Pokemon Channel
Pokemon Pinball
Pokemon Trozei!
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon : Red/Blue Rescue Team
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness
Pokemon Ranger
Pokemon Rumble

Trivia:
Magikarp is a Water-type Pokémon.

It evolves into Gyarados starting at level 20.

Why I Be Hatin':

Magikarp doesn't do anything. Literally. If you babysit him for a bunch of levels, he turns into a decent Pokemon, but until then, he's as useful in Pokemon as an accountant is.

Any Character that I Have to Escort in a First Person Shooter

Oh, shoot. I forgot my lightsaber. Can you go back and get it?

List Of Games:
Most First Person Shooter games.

Trivia:
Escort Missions are named, obviously, from the actions needed to be taken during these missions. Usually this means taking care of NPC's. These can be defined as missions where you must take an NPC to another location, insuring that they do not die.

Why I Be Hatin':
Okay, stay close to me and match my speed and we... Hey! I haven't finished healing yet! No! Don't go that way! I can see like 40 of ....! Arrrgh! Hey! Stop shooting at him! I'm the guy with the ginormous gun! He hasn't shot one of you! Ever! And... for Pete's sake! Don't walk into my line of fire! And don't charge the guy with the minigun! Mission failure? ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

Teddie (Persona 4)

Teddie, telling you this for the hundredth time today...

List Of Games:
Persona 4

Trivia:
Teddie is a strange stuffed-bear-like creature with blue fur and a red/white jumpsuit, who resides inside the TV world. In the Japanese version, Teddie has a verbal tic where he usually ends his speeches with "-kuma" ("bear" in Japanese). In the English version, he makes puns on the word "bear" (Bear-sona, etc.). He serves as outside support in battle, but is later replaced by Rise and becomes an active party member. When fighting, he uses knuckles and other hand-worn weapons. He is often used as comic relief. Teddie's human form later in the game is a blonde, charming, bishonen-looking teenager.

Teddie's Shadow is a larger form of his bear costume emerging from a hole in the ground, with portions of its face missing, revealing a void underneath. It represents Teddie's fear that his existence is superficial and "hollow. "

Why I Be Hatin':
Teddie is the guide character during the first part of Persona 4 and helps guide your party through the early areas. Now, this isn't a bad thing usually. But Teddie has a rather high pitched voice, that gets unpleasant upon repeated exposure. And unfortunately, he's also the color guy during your fights. "There are four enemies!" "That one's weak to ice!" "Chie's in bad shape!" And there are a lot of fights in Persona 4, and he speaks 3-4 times during each battle...  Well, even being an interesting character, he grates on you very quickly. He's Navi, but with a wider vocabulary. And his voice is even more annoying in Japanese.
