Take heed, MSTies: the next RiffTrax Live event will take place Aug. 19 at a movie theater near you.

This time, Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy will verbally shred way-silly scholastic cautionary tale "Reefer Madness." No doubt, the witty trio is crafting high-minded weed jokes as we speak.

West and Mid-Michiganders will be able to experience the live-via-satellite event at Celebration Cinema locations: Rivertown Crossings in Grand Rapids, Celebration Lansing, Celebration Mt. Pleasant and Cinema Carousel in Muskegon. Tickets are $11.50 and go on sale June 29. An encore presentation will take place Aug. 24.

"Reefer" follows up the high-larious Riffsters' live destruction of several terrible Christmas shorts and "Plan 9 from Outer Space" during two successful events last year.

I recommend buying tickets ahead of time, as these events are popular and may sell out. You wouldn't want to be left high and dry. (Yes, groan.)

Agreed, I was hoping for a new movie, hopefully they'll punch up the riffs for the live event.

BTW, I just got back from an event at Red Rocks Amphitheater (Morrison Colorado, right at the edge of the mountains).  At the right time of year, that could be a PERFECT Rifftrax Live venue.  (I say the right time of year, because the show'd have to start after sunset for the movie to be visible.  Just saw Princess Bride there with a sold out crowd and it was an awesome experience)

Fun fact! Red Rocks seats around 9,200 people. But there are about 250,000 Coloradans who will tell you that they were at that concert. Including me.

Hopefully since it is so early that there will be more theaters announced.  So far in my area it is only in one theater and I don't want to go to the city to see it.
