Did anyone notice BORAT getting nominated for Best Screenplay Based on Previously Produced Material?

uh wasnt most the movie unscripted?  Just askin.

When he responded to people directly, it usually was.  But a good deal of it (even what he said while talking to people) was scripted.  Some of it was written by Patton Oswalt(!).  Like the scene when he's learning to drive and screams bizarre obscenities: "YOU FUCK MY MOTHER!!!"  Oswalt.

 It was considered an adapted screenplay because the movie was about a character that appeared on the Ali Gi Show. I know that sounds incredibly silly. Think of it as Hollywood giving props to something that they can't pubicly give props to.
