You must be smokin' some expensive cheeba there. Terry Gilliam, weak link? Peter Jackson, good director who made one bad movie? Give me a break.

Yes, The Brothers Grimm is a piece of shit, but look at all the gems Gilliam produced before it: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (even though he never finished it, the few minutes he did finish are f'n brilliant!!) - compare that to Peter "shitty B-movies followed by shitty slightly mainstream movies followed by shitty Tolkien adaptation followed by shitty remake" Jackson. There's a whole world of shit right there.

Terry Gilliam is one of the most brilliant directors working today. Peter Jackson sucks.

Terry Jones directed The Holy Grail along with Gilliam.

And you forgot the Fisher King....which sucked....and Time Bandits, Midgets, yuk, yuk!

But who could forget Gilliams great skits for the Pythons.....well, none are coming to mind other then the Jewish Rastiferian liver donor.

Yeah, I did forget The Fisher King...which was also excellent! One of his best!

???

Would you mind putting the bong down before you speak of Terry Gilliam's work?

Yeah, LOTR suck but The Fisher King is great....but I am the one with the bong. ::)

As a Python fan, I can say with with all honesty that most people don't know who the hell Gilliam is, and what he brought to the group was animation, which was great, but his film for the most part have been disappointing.

Yes, you are.

Peter Jackson is one of the worst directors working today. I despise his work with a passion.

Terry Gilliam, however, is a great talent. Gilliam can create great stuff with small budgets while Jackson spends too much on nothing. Jackson is Hollywood trash. Gilliam is an artist.

I don't see what's so funny. Now if I had said that Peter Jackson was an artist, that would be pretty funny. But Gilliam?

Don't get me wrong, I am not lumping Gilliam into the same class as Uwe Boll or Michael Bay, but some of his movies have been crap.  The best directing Gilliam did was the sailing building short at the beginning of MP's The Meaning of Life, which was very funny.  But to say Time Bandits or the The Fisher King  was "art" is just nothing more then fanboy worship on your part.

It least you said that The Brother's Grimm was crap, so we can agree on something.

Um, back to 2nd?

I enjoyed Brothers Grimm; it was a fun movie, and I didn't go in expecting another Brazil or Twelve Monkeys so I had a good time.

sarcasm_made_Easy

ive said it before because i feel quite strongly.  Fun movies and good movies are two different things.  I can have fun (apparently) with battlefield earth and daredevil that doesnt make them good.  brothers grimm fits that description.

Of course, because Mike, Kevin, and Bill were there to help ease the pain. Without them, however, you'd be trying to rip your eyeballs out of their sockets with a rusty fork. The Brothers Grimm is bad, but it's not Battlefield Earth bad.
