List the top 10 films you'd want riffed

1. Alien and/or Aliens
MST3K referenced this movie a few times in riffs, and there was a series of skits where Tom was facehugged. These movies have so got to be on the crew's mind. :D

2. Jaws
Giving voice to the shark would be great.

3. Close Encounters with the Third Kind
Riffs giving voice to the lights, the characters acting insane for half the movie has a lot of potential as well.

4. 28 Days and/or 28 Weeks
These movies have so many quiet spots with silly situations. Frothing, angry insane people sprinting around everywhere..

5. Godzilla (1998)
It's just BAD.

6. The Two Towers and/or Return of the King
The LOTR rifftrax is still my favorite, these movies seem to provide way too much material to work with than what can be exploited in one run.

7. Polar Express
Insane and ridiculous the whole way through.

8. E.T.
Lots of quiet points, giving voice to E.T. would be pretty funny.

9. Terminator 1 and/or 2.
Giving voice to the T-1000 would again be pretty funny. I loved the Arnold impressions in the Terminator 3 rifftrax. Terminator 1 would be pretty neat, the "self eye surgery" scene has potential.

10. Waterworld.
Yeah.

My crazy suggestion is Stalker (1979). It's long, dark, mostly quiet and really creepy, but not something very many people have in their dvd collections.

1. Conan the Destroyer

Not that the original Conan movie wouldn't be rifftaculous, but this one doubles the cheese, throws in egregious comic relief dialogue and ends with the heroes fighting a giant rubber suit. And a grunting Arnold Schwarzeneggar  is always fun to watch.

2. 7th Voyage of Sinbad

Because not every film riffed by Rifftrax has to be made in the last decade or so.  This 1950's era fantasy film combines the awesomeness of Ray Harryhausen's monsters, lots of color, and some wonderfully stilted, and eminently riffable dialogue.

3. Dungeons and Dragons

Annoying comic relief? Check. Bad CG? Check. Scenery-ingesting villain played by Jeremy Irons? Check.  Huge, hulking henchman with bright blue lips? Che--wait.  What?

4. Street Fighter: The Movie

Yes folks. We need to see Raul Julia embarrassing himself for a paycheck again.  And JC Van Damme is sure to be an abundant source of unintentional, thick-accented comedy.

5. The Sword and the Sorceror

The weapon the hero wields by itself is worth a laugh. (You'll just have to see how ridiculous it is for yourself..) Then there's the gratuitous fanservice and the ham-handed crucifixion scene that even Jesus himself would laugh at.

6. The Iron Warrior

(Also known as "Ator 3" ) Starring Miles and Miles O ' Keefe in a surreal, incomprehensible story about a girlishly dressed warrior pitted against his evil twin by a witch who can best be described as "Estelle Winwood's Evil Cousin". The first Ator film could also use a good riffing, (even though we saw spoilerific  flashbacks of most of the movie in "The Cave Dwellers")

7. Krull

Another "hero beats the bad guys with a ludicrously over-the-top magical weapon" movie. Also there's a villain who lives in a giant castle made of taffy and futuristic stormtroopers who look like they accidentally wandered out of the set of the old Battlestar Galactica TV series...

8. Cutthroat Island.

I would just love to see how Mike & Co. handle the scene where Julia Roberts leaps from a carriage, into a window, runs through the building and then leaps out of the opposite window back onto the carriage, which was apparently traveling at .0003 miles an hour.  There's some painfully cheesy dialogue to be had as well.

9. Zardoz

Sean Connery in a diaper. And a wedding dress. 0_o Giant floating, talking heads that spit guns! Viewers brains explode! It's the future!

10. Tron

David Warner gets to play another dual role--both villains this time. (Fortunately, he isn't required to wear a ridiculous costu--oh wait. He is... Well.. at least it isn't made of feathers.)

Honorable mentions: Legend, Dune, Ghost in the Shell (if they can stomach anime), and the grand champion of all bad movies, "Turkish Star Wars". (The subtitled by chimp version, of course....)

I believe it was Geena Davis... but good choice.

I just have one request for a Rifftrax.  Sorry if it violates the ten rule.
In honor of Charleton Heston, I think the Planet of the Apes would make for a great Rifftrax.  I love that movie, but it certainly would lend itself well to being poked fun at.  In the words of that one annoying guest lawyer on Boston Legal, I think it would be a "Hoot".

Oh, and for the bonus laughs, I think it would be even better if "Bobo" would be one of the Riffers.

I'll agree Planet of the Apes would be a good target, but don't get your hopes up about your guest riffer.  Maybe Kevin could slip in some Bobo-sounding lines, but certain trademark holders might be upset by such an unauthorized use of a character.

Gah! I don't know why I always confuse those two actresses...probably because they both have huge lips and  became popular at about the same time.

10) Krull
9)  Superman III
8)  Superman IV
7)  Lost in Space

2)  Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (The Sequel)
1) Rikko-O "The Story of Rikki" (The worst, yet bloodiest and most entertaining kung-fu movie ever)

Maverick Joe Six-Pack

I'd like to see them finish up the franchises that they've started like Lord of the Rings, Spider-man, Matrix & X-Men, but in due time.  These are the non riffed movies/franchises.

9) Firefly (first two episodes)
8) Fight Club
7) Planet Terror
6) I, Robot
5) Die Hard
4) Equilibrium

I'm compiling this list from my own dvd collection (Sadly)

Titanic
Karate Kid

Nightmare on Elm Street
Ransom

War of the Worlds (Spielberg movie)

Some of these movies I actually like, as I've found it can be funnier if the movie is good in some way.

(In no specific order)

1. Fight Club
2. Matrix: Revolutions (We need to finish out the trilogy)
3. Logan's Run (Oh please, oh please  oh please!!)
4. Sin City
5. The Punisher
6. The Lost Highway (David Lynch decided long ago that plot doesn't matter... is he dating Uwe Boll?)
7. Minority Report
8. The Big Red One (Have you guys ever done a Sam Fuller movie?)
9. 13 Ghosts ( The Dark Castle remake, not the original)
10. In the Name of the Rose (Sean Connery and Christian Slater as monks solving murder mysteries, I don't know where you'd find better riff-fodder than that!)

Raven

I'd love to see a Fight Club riff, just to see what Mike and Co. would do with it.

Interesting choice... you a Jodorowsky fan? Why not 'The Holy Mountain' to go with the Passion Riff (#5)?  Hahaha...

5. Passion of the Christ

Of course... will never happen.

My Top Ten:
1. Da Vinci Code - inaccurate, full of holes, and easily riffed
2, 3, 4. Star Wars (Original Trilogy) - ugh.  cinematic disaster.  Preferably the very originals for the crappy fx, but the CG'ed versions work too, especially for editing out old Vader
5. Bloodrayne - the guy from Species sounded like he read the script a few minutes before each scene.
6. Catwoman - I can't watch this movie.  No one can make me, other than Mike, Kevin, and Bill
7. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever - never interested in watching it.  Perhaps Rifftrax can save it.
8. Gigli
9. The Golden Compass
10. The Island (2005)

Perhaps sometime later: Solaris, Waterworld, Wing Commander, War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version), ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, Twister, Jurassic Park 2/3, Minority Report, Footloose.
