10- Escape from New York
9 - Delta Force
8 - Death Wish 3
7-  Cyborg
6-  American Ninja
5-  Action Jackson
4- The Last Dragon
3- They Live
2- Samurai cop
1- Commando

I haven't seen American Ninja in YEARRS...

and They Live...excellent, I think it should be the next sci-fi flick chosen.

And Commando, and maybe a double feature with Raw Deal would be good  >:D
Hi-Keeba!

I just realized I must amend my list to make room for Surf Ninjas, the movie that wanted to be 3 Ninjas, but wasn't good enough. Complete, with Leslie Nielson as the villain. Monsoon, Dude!

Ok lets see. In no specific order (just mearly a list)

10.  Hulk - Long dull movie needs to be made watchable
9. Fantastic Four - A decent movie, but still not fantastic
8. Star Wars Episode 3 - You know it is coming
7. LOTR: Two Towers - need to have this overrated series completely riffed
6. LOTR: ROTK - see above
5. Transformers The Movie (1986) - Just to piss of Johnny Long Torso
4. Snakes on a Plane - If that isn't a plot needing to be riffed, I don't know what is
3. Batman & Robin - Needs riffing ever since the Summer Blockbuster review (Head bob..smile..head bob smile...)
2. Godzilla - Oh so deserving..
1. Independence Day

Honorable Mentions aka 20-11:

20. The Ring
19. Street Fighter
18. Starship Troopers
17. any Friday the 13th movie
16. Any Nightmare on Elm Street

Do you really think Lawrence of Arabia would be riffable? It's pretty light on dialog for the most part, and I honestly just didn't see much that felt cheesy or silly.

ScottotD

...and if this were 'suggest a movie for MST3k' that would be an issue.  Mike has already done great films as riftrax and yes, I think it would work.

10. Titanic.

James Cameron makes this totally unwatchable crapfest, and it becomes the biggest success of all time. I think it's time this movie gets taken down a peg or two. Also, from the selected riffed sequences we got to see on the MST3K Little Gold Statue Special, I'm still busting a gut.

9. Pulp Fiction.

It's a fun movie, no doubt, but this is a Royale with way too much cheese. There's just so much you can do with this movie.

8. Minority Report.

Come on. Does this really need an explanation? It's freakin' Minority Report.

7. The Day After.

Overflowing with Guttenburgy goodness, this made for TV spectacular about a nuked Kansas is wild, and I can't think of one scene that isn't outstandingly ready for a riff or two.

6. Empire Strikes Back.

Luke: I am not afraid.

Yoda: You will be.... Mmm.... You wiiilllll beeee. ..... nuff said.

5. Aliens.

The second (but not last) James Cameron movie on the list is a personal favorite. Aliens is the mother of all sequels, the mother of all action movies, and the mother of Bill Paxton. The movie itself is his mother.

4. 2001

Kubricks bore-filled science fiction "masterpiece" cold not be more overrated or more unwatchable... to me, at least.

3. Goodfellas.

When's the last time you heard a really good Pesci joke?

2. Batman

In "Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese," Mike voiced his dismay at the Batman movies. I could not agree more. Nicholson is a beboping Joker, who digs on vandalizing museums while rocking out to Prince... I'm glad he got a big paycheck. Tim Burton sucks.

1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Take one whiny kid, throw in an assload of Scwarzennegarian one-liners, add a pinch of liquid metal goober, top it off with a terrible soundtrack by Guns and Roses, and wrap it all up in a nice little package of nuclear apocalypse. What do you have? You have an iron smelting plant in the middle of a mysteriously traffic free Los Angeles! ... and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, I guess. The work Mike and Bill did on T3 was astonishing, and I couldn't hope for a better Rifftrax.

Pretty good picks...I had mentioned Titanic before, it's ripe if there's ever been a movie worthy of riffing.

I digress, I disagree with Goodfellas though. I think two and a half hours of mob/Pesci joes would be a little tedious.
Hi-Keeba!

Scrivener

Herewith, my top ten, plus two.  The added two are special cases, movies that should be riffed despite being good.

#12:  The Lord of the Rings:  The Two Towers
Pretty obvious continuation of the Fellowship riff.  Two-part riffs should be a special case, but Two Towers qualifies.

#11:  Star Trek II:  The Wrath of Khan
For my money, the best film in the Trek franchise ... but Lord, it is so chock full of riffin' material.  The Great Shatner-Montalban Scenery Chew-Off; Kirstie Alley back when she was thin and (admit it, guys) hot; Project Genesis, which if it doesn't inspire at least fifteen song references involving Phil Collins, proves Mike isn't doing the job right; and last but not least, multiple Chekov screams!  I can wait a decent interval after Star Trek VI, but I really want this one.

And now for the bad movies, in no particular order ...

#10:  Eragon
Yes, dragons again, this time in a virtual scene-for-scene, character-for-character ripoff of "Star Wars".  The thought of these people somehow contriving to do a sequel that rips off The Phantom Menace could cause Kevin to vomit up his pancreas.  Whether that's a selling point is a matter of taste.

#9:  Catwoman
Some Oscar-winning actresses have it coming. <chord>

#8:  Days of Thunder
Not only does it complete the Cruise triptych, it also provides an opportunity to mine NASCAR for big laughs.

#7:  Armageddon
Does Michael Bay have it coming, or what?  Gives Mike a second shot at both Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck, plus a Affleck-Liv Tyler romance subplot that rivals Anakin-Padme for painful banality (not to mention Bay's own love triangle in Pearl Harbor).  The one practical caveat:  can Mike shout over this movie's thumping loud soundtrack for over two hours?

#6:  Independence Day
This movie is a lot of goofy fun, accent on "goofy" -- and that means riffing material galore.  What can Mike make of Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and plot holes big enough to fly an alien mothership through?  Wouldn't you just love to find out?

#5:  Godzilla (1998)
Two in a row for Devlin and Emmerich, only this movie forgot the "fun" part.  Anyone who contrives to make a Godzilla movie be no fun deserves no mercy.  Loads of good riffing fodder here:  I wouldn't know where to start the list.

#4:  The da Vinci Code
Some movies take themselves so seriously, with material so goofy, it's almost not fair.  Almost.  Tom Hanks, you've only got yourself to blame for the riffing coming your way.

#3:  Jaws:  The Revenge
Man, what chum this is.  The problem with riffing it is that there are multiple versions floating around, and it might be tough getting Riff producers and Riff consumers on the same page.  If that can be managed, though ... smile, you son of a --

#2:  Batman and Robin
Do I even have to go into this?

#1:  Barb Wire
Because darn it, if you can't use your very own entertainment company for acts of revenge, what good is the free market anyway?

I think the newest itteration of King Arthur would make a good riff target. It's got that golden combination of putrid summer blockbuster idiocy and the balls to take itself seriously. Like a house of cards, it will collapse if pressured by good riffing.

sarcasm_made_Easy

Why return to oz?  I liked that one, (which granted has nothing to do with riffing) but it seems like an odd choice.

booyalab
