What about the Manchurian Candidate?  (I mean the good one, not the new one)  That's sort of a hypno/brainwashing/subliminal message type movie.  And I've never been able to look at Angela Lansbury the same way since seeing that movie.

There's The Stand too... I used to love that movie and I just watched it recently and realized how painfully long and annoying it is.
