What's Wrong With "Add to Cart" Links?

Sounds like PayPal. We don't have anything to do with their site, we just process the money for our end, the login process for them hasn't changed.

EDIT: I tested it with my personal PayPal account and everything worked fine.

Hey Torgo, this reminds me of the time we installed some new SAP service packs for BP and the users went nuts because their "excute" button changed from a cherry bomb to a check mark.   God, it was like a flock of spooked deer.

;)

Ha! Thanks for the laugh, I needed that.

Yeah I'm not quite sure where the problems are coming from, some users with Firefox can't hit Add to Cart buttons, but 99% of them can. Not sure why... very strange.

Anyone with issues please post 'em here so we can compare notes!

I just finished another try. When I went directly to Paypal, I had no problem logging in. But when I came back to Rifftrax and tried to buy Troll 2, the error messages came up with no record of my e-mail or password when I tried to login through the sale page.  Something's blocking it.  Is there an item number that I could enter at Paypal directly?
As I said before, I had no problem with the previous payment system through 21 Rifftrax, but this way seems to be blocked.

Is the error page at our login screen, or at PayPal? Could you send me the web URL of the page you're trying to login at?

And what the error message is you receive?

WAIT! I think I see what you mean now. You have to create a new account with us.  The two accounts are separate; in other words, we don't have access to your PayPal records, only you do. Our system is a gateway to PayPal. It's kind of like Amazon.com has its own Member Login, where you can enter your credit card and shipping information; but then if you want to pay with PayPal, you have to log into that system AS WELL.

So in short, you have to sign up as a new user with your email address and a new password that you create FIRST, then you can place your order.

I'll try to make that more clear on the login / signup form.

EDIT: Make your purchase, and when you go to Checkout, the next screen that asks you to login, click on the 2nd field towards the bottom ("I am a new customer. Create Account.")

Follow the steps to create your account for RiffTrax.com and then you'll be able to complete your purchase using a credit card or PayPal.

Let me know if this helps.

Much better.  It's like that episode of Futurama when Frye moved in with Bender.  I thought I was in the bank but I was only in the vestibule. Thanks for your help.

Pak-Man

Everything looks different now to me. Does that mean Rifftrax is broken? Why is there a dash on the log-in button? I'm getting new warnings about the page being secure. Was I insecure before? Do I need to build my self confidence? Why are there so many countries I can pick in my address that don't speak English? Why would they need a Rifftrax? Do they use PAL? I'm not sure if I WANT to be pals with a Troll! When they ship me my zip file, how big will it be? Will it fit in my mailbox or do I need to wait by the door for the postman to show up? Does anyone really use Discover? There's no picture telling me where to find my security code anymore. Did it move? Should I check the remember credit card box if I don't think I can remember it? I've got a Coupon for 1.00/lb for ground beef at Arbys. Should I mention that in the Coupon Field? My Discount is -$0.00, but I don't think zero can be negative. I think the exclamation point on the submit my order! button is unnecessary. Email takes too long! Can't you make the Email go faster?

(It was my goal to make someone on the customer service end of Rifftrax laugh. Change spooks customers, and I know from my work experience that it's a pain to be on the helping end of that. This is not meant to offend any of the posters of existing issues. Every issue posted here so far has been at least somewhat more valid than any of the ones I posted. I'll stay away from the help forum topics now. :^))

Well Pakky you achieved your goal. I definitely laughed at that. I've been in customer service before (not a help desk though, I don't think I'd survive). But yeah... thanks.

I do take all support issues seriously, since the site is pretty much my baby (except for the cart system, we bought-and-tweaked that). Our job here is to make the users' experience as comfortable as possible. So we appreciate people taking the time to ask us for help, instead of just cursing us and walking away from RiffTrax forever.

me id rather curse you and stay to make your life miserable.  Some have called me a bitter shell of a man, ive never fully understood why.
