Are you about to turn down my boat loan application  ;)

...and, Mr. TripHoundRedux,

This is what Mary Jo got stuck with! What was she thinking?!?

I find it very refreshing that you are comfortable enough with yourself to have a picture taken of you surrounded by doilies.

LOL, PSL. I know, I know. Hey, it was my Mother's house and my young Niece wanted to take a picture of me with her digital camera... I need to go into Photoshop and transplant me into a room filled with Playboy centerfold posters and mounted animal heads...

I've often wondered, at what point does a woman decide that her home desperately needs doilies? Also, RAD, is that a mustache, or did you just drink a tall glass of lint? :rimshot: (Like I'm in any position to make fun of someone else's half-assed facial hair...)

I admit that I have a doily or two in use (not quite as bad as RAD's photo).  Apparently, it used to be all the rage to create such things and my grandma had a whole cedar chest full of them when she died...quite literally, a WHOLE CEDAR CHEST full of all shapes and sizes and intricacies.  She also had many decorating her house.  It must be a grandma thing.  Maybe she rotated them or gave them for Christmas gifts, who knows.

I'm not much of a lace and bows type of gal but it just feels wrong not to at least have some out since apparently she loved to make them so much.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Sinflux

My mom had doilies all over the place as I grew up, but I still have no appreciation for them. Delicate linen spiderwebs just don't agree with my aesthetic sensibility. Of course, my aesthetic sensibility seems to be cheezy posters and action figures...

Yeah, I get grief from people because my only wall hangings are horror movie posters.    To the heck with them I say.   "Heck with you".   There, I just said it.
