Drunk is the only word that explains Bale's Batman voice.

I have a feeling they are both too Sci-Fi for this universe, still when the franchise is rebooted again in 15 years it will not be so poo faced and we will get to see them done right.

I agree that they're too Sci-Fi for this.  I have no clue how they could keep this franchise going.  Most of the villains just wouldn't fit in this universe.

Riddler....maybe....but that's when the other franchise really started to suck.  Plus, if they continue with that formula of a new villain per movie, it really just turns into the "Freak of the Week".  I think that would spell the end.  That's what's happened in every other movie franchise that's tried this.

I think they should go with an unconventional villain (Commissioner Gordon, the people of Gotham, Bruce's alcoholism), or go back to Joker or Ra's al Ghul.

I've only heard a little of them, but if they put the Riddler in the movie and base him on the unlockable patient recordings in the new Arkham Asylum game, then he'll fit perfectly.  Psychotic, narcessistic, but unlike the Ledger Joker calm and refined.  Not calm in a "coiled spring ready to snap" way that Ledger was, but in a "I absolutly know I'm better than you so there's no need to worry" way.

The only thing, you would need another villain to fulfil the action requirement people will expect with another movie.  Riddler is an intellectual and wouldn't do all that nasty fistfighting himself.  At least that's my take.

So here comes Bane (yes, I know) then. :)

Please remember back in the late 90s as an April fools day joke on the BBC Doctor Who message board I posted a thread where I claimed that Paramount have gotten the rights to make a new Doctor series, they had put Rick Berman in charge, and cast the guy who played Tom Paris on Voyager as The Doctor.  We all had a good laugh at that until a few days latter a British Tabloid had picked it up and was reporting it as fact.  True Story.

I love that story.

Yeah I have to admit while it did annoy me at the time looking back it is kind of cool, and it shows what a bunch of clowns the press can be sometimes.
