QuoteAs hinted at the end of "Resident Evil: Extinction," the story will shift to Tokyo. The tone is more akin to "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" in terms of style. The overall tone is also very dark.

Release Date: September 17, 2010

My apathy is palpaple.  Did anyone even notice the last one?  Or the one before that?  The first one people do remember.  It had lasers and zombies and still wasn't very good.

MSTJedi

Eh, for some reason, I really enjoy these flicks. Good dumb action movie - with zombies!

carlobee

the last one was not actually good. :( i did not like it. hope this one will turn out my thinking about the series. hope this will be the best among the three.

dignan

i liked the first and third, hated the second.

Junkyard

Ditto! You're the only other person I've met who didn't think they just got perpetually worse! (It kinda dipped in the middle.)

jewishcarpenter

Is this going Disney Sequel-style and direct to dvd or what?

ManUnderMask

The third was terrible. It felt like half of a movie, in that half of it was intentionally removed.

Good job killing off all the likable characters, Anderson.

I honestly think this franchise would have been better if it hadn't been called Resident Evil... because, you know, it's not.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Pak-Man

Actually, as game movies go, Resident Evil tops the list for game-to-screen accuracy. Doesn't mean it's anywhere near where it SHOULD be, but at least they got the basic rules of the universe right, compared to Mario Brothers or Double Dragon or Silent Hill, or Doom...

Really, I see Video Game movies today as being where comic book movies were in the '80s. A few people tried, but too many people tried to shove square pegs into round holes until X-Men came along and showed them that the hole can be square too, and you don't have to mess so much with the peg. :^)

Video game movies need an X-Men equivalent...

Halo, maybe? Man, I hope they get Halo right.

Compound

Probably Warcraft. Sam Raimi seems to be respectful of source material.

MSTJedi

Funny enough, since I've never played any of the Warcraft games, it wouldn't really matter to me how close to source the movie was as long as it was entertaining.
