Doctor Who?

I have always loved radio some of my favorite radios shows are... The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy The jack Benny show,Suspense,Burns and Allen,Abbot and Castelo,Dragnet,John Gielgud's Sherlock Holmes series,The Shadow,The Green Hornet,The Star Wars radio series(The first two are better then the films if you ask me),The Lone Ranger, and Big Finish's Doctor Who series.  There are a lot more but I wanted to keep this list short.  Radio is a great way to tell stories but like books,TV.or movies you have to have a story teller who knows how to use it.

In addition to just about anything by Abbot and Costello, I came across a cassette tape of a pair of episodes of The Spike Jones Show.  Each featured a guest celebrity, on one instance it was Bela Legosi, on the other, Peter Lorre.  The show with Peter Lorre was particularly hilarious.  It featured one of Spike's band members doing a spot on impersonation of Lorre, singing a rather unique version of the song 'My Old Flame'...

Then again Radio can have it's advantages.  I think that  maybe The Star Wars 'prequels' ( Phantom Menace in particular) would've done far better as radio dramas.  Especially those long drawn out talking scenes where a bunch of actors are sitting around talking about events rather than actually having the movie actually show things occurring.  Even if it IS cheaper to do so...

I would so love to hear a prequel radio show, and one that actually made the stories work but of course that will never be.

Spike Jones and Bela Lugosi? That I'd like to listen to.

A spy photo of  Hector Hammond:

An interesting take on the deformed cranium. Peter Sarsgaard is Rocky Dennis in The Elephant Man!

He'll look even more impressive with the make-up on.  ZING!

"Kill Green Lantern?" There's an app for that.
