Thank you, now how hard was that? :)

The song's OK, I don't really play computer games so it might be funnier if one does.

torgosPizza

Yeah it's full of in-jokes from the game, which is what really makes it funny. Besides having a really catchy tune :)

...

Someone should tell Jonathan Coulton that www.jonathancoulton.com isn't very helpful in telling people who Jonathan Coulton is.

Yes, maybe they should, since it isn't.

See here's what I said:

Just using that as a jumping off point. Um, who are all three of them?

And here is all anyone had to say in reply:

He's a singer/songwriter. His songs are usually pretty funny and also tend to be about nerdy topics. He also wrote the end credit song for Portal, which is where I first heard about him.

I mean it's not that difficult a request to fulfill is it? And after all it was just to progress the conversation, but it seems people would rather be snide instead. Ah well.

Actually in the progress of this I did at lease get a partial answer to the other part of my post:

Personally if the thing's funny, it's funny regardless of who happens to be doing it, I mean I don't know who many i-Riffers are but they can still turn in good work. :)

Well, the things seen at those links aren't terribly funny so my expectations aren't terribly high.

So it's been useful in that way :)

Conor

We intentionally go out of our way to work with people we don't really find funny or think that people who enjoy our regular work would find funny, so your wariness is completely warranted.

But really, these guys cracked everyone up throughout the entire process.  You're missing out if you go looking for a reason to write it off.

Well I'm speaking personally of course. I didn't find the things terribly funny so I don't have terribly high expectations for the riff.

Good lord.

I've got to say Conner, I'm perfectly fine with listening to the riff but. you know, post like your last one and others like it aren't making me particularly well disposed towards it.  I'm not "looking for a reason to write it off" but wow people seem really keen to provide them. :-\

I actually said initially that not knowing the blokes was no reason to reject it in response to Imrahil and yet people are reacting like  I've said "this will be crap" I'm really not saying that at all.

You could be a little less defensive.  :)

I checked Amazon and I'm seeing 96 min. for the 2000 rerelease and the 20th anniversary 2002 release.  Thank god I didn't erase the fies for the riffraff version.

Finally, some sort of answer. I'll put an order on Amazon now, in hopes that it arrives in time. And while I've got all that refund money, I think I'll also pick up the RiffRaff Theater track as well, give them a try.

I'll answer your quote with someone else's quote:

Just so you know, you are on the internet.

Tripe

No see Torgos answered it.

That was after snide answers like Edwards but before snide answers like yours ;)

Sigh

James of LinHood

I'm curious.  Are you counting me posting links in response to your inquiry as being snide?
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.

No yours was just the links, it's the "duh look it up" type posts that are annoying. Nothing kills conversation like monosyllabic or snotty answers*. :(

It's like asking somebody, "so what was the film like?" and getting the response "go see it and you'll see" or "why don't you look up the plot" well yes but you know I'm not incapable of doing that, the reason I ask is because it offers people who like the thing being asked about the opportunity to voice an opinion or pass along information in their own words.

It's kind of nicer that way isn't it?

* speaking in general terms there, I don't think there were any monosyllabic answers in this case.
