I can't say I like the idea of the unreleased short on the DVD. I realize that there are many people out there that would rather have the convenience of a DVD to just pop in their home theater system, but I can't speak for them. I've got nerd power, I like having the files instead.

I just purchased the Shorts Vol. 2 dvd, I can't wait to get it (I wait for the dvds to come out to watch Rifftrax Shorts).

You like getting rewarded for what, paying for shipping & handling? The difference between buying all the shorts for download and buying the DVD is just over two dollars in Rifftrax pocket, but thats before buying the blank Dvds and the cases, printing the covers and labels, shrink wrap, etc. I'm speculating, but I don't see too much of an actual profit for Rifftrax in a customer buying the DVD instead of the files.

I wish I could buy both, but alas, my pockets remain too shallow for such lavish behavior.

I don't think that'd work.  The actual short is longer than what the did for the DVD.  They trimmed about 10 minutes off the short when they did the 3D version

Well, releasing Any Version of it (via MPEG-2) is better than nothing..
