I don't usually bother with chapter menus.  Too many chapters on these dvds! :gouge:

I'm sure this is already addressed, but I have had no luck searching. But is there a freebie program that can incorporate DVD Menus into the finished disc? I've use Dragon's guide so many times it's practically second nature, but these menus are too cool not to try to implement.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm sure the answer has been right under me the whole time.

None that I know of.  I once upon a time used Intervideo WinDVD Creator to make some fairly primitive menus for a bunch of Spongebob episodes I was giving to a friend.  I think that's been discontinued though.  The current WinDVD Player software costs 80 bucks and I don't think it has Creator included.

Some folks I've heard use Nero; I think that costs $100.

I use Mediachance's DVD Lab Pro.  The license cost $245, but I think it was worth it.

Beyond that, you have Sony Vegas, but when I price-checked that, it was $550 or thereabouts.  Adobe I think has a product that costs even more (like quadruple digits).

How come your main menu says "Chad Rader"?

Either a typo or the font fucked up the 'V'.  Either way; goddamnit I'm gonna have to go through an hour of recompiling and burning to fix one letter..

The metallic gold font looks very nice. :)  Is that rendered?

The main title is; I used some effects in DVD Lab to get that trapezoid effect.

The rest is regular text with various DVD Lab styles on it.  Dunno which ones.  I think I took a texture labelled as "rubber", added a "metal bevel" effect, and dropped a black shadow.  I tinker around with effects like that on every menu until I find something that looks right.

I recently got Nero, so I take it I just use these backgrounds and just make boxes and such around the text to make everything work, right?

If nero lets you author menus... then that would certainly work.

I dunno.  I don't use Nero; I use DVD Lab Pro.  I think Axnollouse might use Nero.
