This seems the perfect place for Sturgeon's Revelation (often called 'Sturgeon's Law'):

"90% of everything is crud."

The fact is: EVERYONE disagrees on what, exactly, the 10% that is worthwhile is.  That's probably why there can be 6 billion + people on the planet* and a wide variety of things to choose from for our entertainment.

Personally I'm completely indifferent to the movie/book/phenomena that is Twilight.  But I think it is one of the 5 funniest RiffTrax, so I look forward to more.

*because seriously: would you choose to mate with 9 out of every 10 of the people you see?  Yet somehow most of them seem to produce offspring (many of them multiple times), because SOMEone found them attractive.

By jove I think she's got it!

So a lot of threads on this forum better start disappearing ("Commercials We Hate", "Glen Beck is a Nutjob" just for example)...

No, not liking something is completely different from dismssing it as worthless

In this specific case, not liking something is different than declaring someone too stupid to appreciate your own taste because they like something you don't.

Come join the Scoobies, Alice....they're so much cooler!

Awwww, don't give me that look, they need to assemble all of the help they can in Tibet right now!!

Tripe

They have a triune pre-Buddhist goddess, what more do you want?

TeamRAD

What more do I want? An Alice Cullen 101-mph fastball.  ;)

Secondly, Twilight's so gonna take down the Goddesses in #30.

For some reason I feel as if I should be watching the first one again since the second one is out on Friday, even though I will most likely not be seeing it..at least in theaters. Sigh..

Question: why do they all have albino ferret eyes in this one, but not the last one?

CrowTeeRobot

Alright.

Discounted Edward cutout from FYE? Check.

Lighter?  Check.

Theater lobby with a giant glass wall facing the parking lot? Check.

Not entirely necessary, but probably good to have getaway car? Check.

I really hope I'm not torn to pieces, but Left 4 Dead 2 has been good training so far.  ;D

Agreed! If you can provide visual proof of this and you will be my hero.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"Joel, what's a Harringway?"
"About a pound."

CrowTeeRobot

Hmm,
Rob and I have conferred, and it would seem that mutilation would be much less likely for me to end up in prison.

So a beheading by the William Wallace sword appears to be the way to go.

Feel free to offer suggestions on how to besmirch this god awful likeness I was unfortunate enough to come across.

But I can promise video.

QuoteNew Moon Boasts Over 2,000 Sell-outs Three Days Before Release

The New Moon phenomenon is growing from strength to strength - 2,150 screenings of the Twilight sequel have already sold out.

The film opens at midnight on Thursday at select cinemas and film fans are already buying up pre-release tickets by the coffin-load.

Website MovieTickets.com is reporting over 200 sell-outs in Los Angeles and New York alone, and the sequel leads all ticket sales online.

A spokesman for MovieTickets.com tells WENN, "It's accounting for 90 per cent of all ticket sales."

The film is expected to topple 2012 as the world's number one movie this coming weekend.
