End of Sept 2007, I developed an ulcer on my left eye's cornea resulting in a noticeable white dot on the dead center of my pupil.  I went to the doctor's every day for 3 weeks until it eventually stopped corroding.  I had to quit my job and couldn't find work till 6 months later.  Time seemed to slow down.  Releases between RiffTrax seemed longer.  I started looking for upcoming titles which ultimately led to me joining the forum.  That is why I am here to this day.  ;D

Holy hell, that sounds terrible. Is there a name for that? I want to do some research on it now. As someone whose main tools for work are his eyeballs, and a person who reads as much as I can, the idea of having a problem with my eyes (besides my already-horrible vision) is something I'm perpetually frightened of.

Don't worry, torgos.  My problem was I didn't worry enough.  I went to an eye doc but just gave up on the meds he gave me.  My eyes were red for the following 6 months.  And I wore contacts on top of that.  The previous two days (before I fell out of my bed in agony one early morning with the ulcer) my eyes would not stop watering and reddened SO bad.  And I may or may not have been using a recalled eye contact solution.  The odds of a corneal ulcer are 1:5,000 (even more to have it on the bull's-eye).  I had to call a doctor in Florida cuz no doctor in Alabama had ever seen something like this before.  So like I said, don't worry about it happening to you.  Instead, you should worry about stuff like this instead.

That does sound terrible. Makes my cataracts seem okay.

OK, I was born with Pyloric stenosis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyloric_stenosis

That required surgery and the incision area got a staph so I now have a VERY ugly scar on my stomach  :grr:

At age four I had my tonsils and adniods removed.

At age ten the adniods regrew, got infected and had to be removed AGAIN  :grr:

At age 32 I had an enlarged lymph node removed from my neck.........non cancerous.

At age 40 I had two hernia surgeries..................one which has since come back but in this crappy economy I'm not doing anything about it becasue I know that my employer will fire me saying I am unfit for the job.

Oh, I have all my wisdom teeth.

Can we spoiler this whole thread, and can we send Mutant-hunting Sentinels after Steve-O?
On timeout

How was that?  I've got a shotty node on the left side of my neck, most likely from a cat scratch.  It's benign, but it kind of annoys me, and I've been thinking about having it hacked out.

It wasn't that bad.  I was given a few locals and they made the cut and took it out.  No pain though you did feel some pressure.  The incision was closed with dissolving stiches.  The only real problem was that someone screwed up in the billing dept and said the lab that checked out the "sample" didn't take my insurance!  The Doc fixed that problem.
