I made this topic because I am interested on what people find on the Internet that make games for free. Some of these games are very impressive, and capture the feel of the genre, or have a completely different take on the character. I also made this as a shameless plug for a fangame I have a part in . ;)

Without further adieu, I give you Sonic Robo Blast 2. SRB2 is an impressive Doom Legacy modification that has so little of doom, that you wouldn't believe it was modified from it. It brings many of the classic elements that made the old Sonic games great, like multiple paths, platforming and speed.  My personal favorite feature of this game is making custom levels, which adds much more replay value. It is really fun to play your own levels and have other people enjoy them too. It is pretty easy to make the levels once you get the hang of it. Making levels is almost like creating a blueprint for a house. It has an interesting multiplayer mode. Although the multiplayer has its problems, a lot of the balancing issues are going to be fixed in the next version comming up in July. The default controls are not that great, so I would suggest setting them up right away. I would suggest either FPS controls (WASD and mouselook) or use an analog gamepad and use analog mode. SRB2 is a great game to try out for Doom and/or Sonic fans.

So, that is one of my favorite fangames. What are some fangames have you seen out there that you would recommend?
