It was 132 minutes long, and the studio did that, not Bakshi. Also, the film only featured part of The Two Towers. Thus proving that you've never even seen the film.

Bakshi made a film that was true to the spirit of the books. He never drastically altered the tone or content of the books, as Jackson did.

Jackson's entire filmography is basically a point-by-point study on how not to make films.

I was just trying to point out that popularity does not equal quality. Because Doctor Who's argument seems to be that Don Bluth and Peter Jackson movies are good because they are popular/win awards.

I originally brought LP up as a perfectly valid comparison to Don Bluth -- makers of mainstream media trying to portray their work as being "alternative" when they are, in fact, mainstream.
