I am really amazed that you guys got The Happening so quickly, I mean apart for RiffTrax I can't say I had really even heard of it before.

See... this redbox thing seems confusing to me.
They don't have a good enough step by step description that I can find on their site.

QuoteHow does renting a DVD online work?

   1. When you visit redbox.com and find a title you'd like to rent select the title by clicking on the box art.
   2. Enter your zip code in the zip code field, hit enter, and a list of nearby redbox locations will appear with the availability of your title indicated.
   3. Find the closest redbox with your title and click "RENT ONLINE NOW"
   4. If you've previously registered for an account, you'll be taken immediately to the billings detail page to confirm your rental.*
   5. After confirmation, proceed post haste to redbox, swipe your credit card (make sure it's the one you used to open your account) and enjoy your movie.

Now that seems simple enough.
...and no late fees?  I wonder how they keep track of where their movies are and when they're returned.

I think the big marketing campaign in the US beat us over the head with it.  The commercials just started again with the DVD release.  As far as the movie itself goes,  I didn't think it was all that bad, (not that great either) but a lot of people don't share my opinion.  The premise itself lends itself to riffing.

Your credit card and the internet do that for them.

Just returned from picking mine up (along with taking the wife out to dinner so she wouldn't think I was just going somewhere without her.. ::) )

I'll have it back to the RedBox machine in the morning 8)

A Very Simple Process indeed!! :o

Red Tape

Hmm. I guess I'm one of the only people not excited about this release. I personally don't like graphic horror movies and I can't imagine wanting to see this one even with Rifftrax.

Um, it's reaaly REALLY not graphic horror at all.

There are some deaths, but nothing graphic to my memory.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "graphic horror movie" either... but there were a few scenes that had gruesome imagery.

Red Tape

Well according to the description on IMDB there are several very graphic deaths, including one where a person is run over by a lawnmower. I'll pass on that.

Yes... and the person falling to their death, and a few other scenes that were as I said, gruesome.
While it is a far stretch from a "slasher" film that is one graphic scene after another, I can see some people avoiding movies with some graphic scenes altogether.
