Thinking back to most of the Christian edutainment I grew up with as a kid, Asylum Films is probably still a step up in budget.

Ain't that the truth. Ever see those ridiculous Tribulation movies of the 70s?

Thief in the Night, The Image of the Beast The Prodigal Planet and one whose name escapes me?

That would actually be really badass if it were done correctly. I don't believe in the Bible, but it could make for some awesome movies. Just like Greek mythology.

I make that comparison as well, tends to annoy people though.

Eh, even as a Christian, I admit that most of the stories of the Old Testament were oral histories handed down through many generations before ever being written down, so, yeah, I'm sure there's plenty of embellishment and even some downright fiction in there. But it's still kickass stuff. I'll even admit that more than likely there's been some fudging with the New Testament, too. It's why I refuse to take the Bible literally and think of it more as a narrative of the progression of the faith from Judaism to the early church.

I couldn't care less about anything else produced by The Asylum, but Death Racers is a great flick. Very much in the spirit of 1970s exploitation (specifically, those exploitation movies that capitalized on big-budget Hollywood films, like Abby was a take-off on The Exorcist). For making that one movie, I'll give The Asylum credit. Too bad they haven't produced more films like that.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Hahaha, nice.

...although weirdly that's less funny than the real ones.
