The xbox live gamertag thread....

I just got a brand new XBOX 360 Premium today from some dude at Pawn X-Change trying to sell it to them. It was still sealed (and probably hot) and they offered him $160 for it. I told him I'd give him $200 for it, and now I got one for Christmas. 
My old gamertag for xbox live was Cptn. Winters, but I haven't used it for 2 years. I'll probably change it to something else. I'll let you guys know what it is after I do, then the fragfest will begin.

Haha. Mike doesn't even have TV in his house, not so sure Online Gaming would be an easy bridge for him to cross. But ya never know.

I wish I could find a deal like that. My roommate's brother is going into the military next month and letting us have his 360.. unfortunately that means only one in the entire apartment! Not good when there are 3 gamers living there...

Ha. No, not good at all. And if I was forced to watch multiple bad movies 5 or 6 times in a row, I think I would give up on television as well.

Would I need to get an HDTV for a 360? A buddy of mine told me that Dead Rising is much harder to play on a normal one because of the lower resolutions.

Not harder, but the text is reeeally tiny. I think games in general are starting to be designed with big widescreens in mind. We now have a 360 on a regular TV and it works fine. It would look absolutely killer on a widescreen HD TV though. :^)

I got mine hooked up to my 57" projection HDTV now and the 1080i looks amazing. It's hard to go back to regular gaming afterwards. I should try Chronicles of Riddick on it. Gears of War looks especially great. And hey, how about those game demos from the xbox live marketplace? That's pretty sweet. I don't have to bother with renting games to see if they're good or not now.

Don't need it but it certainly helps. My friend couldn't read any of the text of Dead Rising on his 36 inch CRT and gave up on it. I just got an HDTV there is no way I would ever go back!

I'll just note that I managed to beat Dead Rising on my normal 20" TV. The small text makes things difficult, but not impossible. (It also means that you need to pay extra close attention to the Janitor as well.)
