Excusing? never,  explaining perhaps, but never excusing...

I love my mst3k friends - we meet every week here at college and one of them mentioned this site randomly a few weeks ago. I have seen SO many crappy movies over the years, wishing the crew from BBI was still around to give them the riffing they deserve.

Glad to see professional riffing is alive and well  ;D
"Pathetic earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void, without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would've hidden from it in terror."

Moe_13

i found this by searching for "mystery science theater 3000 wav files" when i log out of windows i hear "push the button frank." its awesome.

"This dude is so uptight its a miracle he hasn't sprained his anus yet."

Wikipedia actually. On their MST3K page, down in "Influences and other appearances", there's a blurb about Rifftrax. I followed the link and the rest is history.  ;D

Dr.Z

I first read about it from Wikipedia then i heard about it even more from the Lowtax interview.

thats it
Believe me Mike, I calculated the odds of this succeding versus the odds i was doing something incredibly stupid and well.....I went ahead anyway - Crow

Give it time, if not through RiffTrax and current blockbusters, then perhaps through Legend Films other entity, The Film Crew with any of the older more obscure, and therefore cheaper movies in the public domain and their ilk, in due  time , they all will hopefully feel our combined wrath..  In the mean time...

Greetings and Salutations fellow new member-type personage.  Here, please accept these tokens of platonic-type affection...

I honestly can't remember, I was probably looking at MST3k.com and there must have been a link, all I know is that suddenly I had about a dozen rifftrax and had to go out and locate copies of some truly awful films. My greatest surprise was that someone gave me a copy of battlefield earth just about a month before the rifftrack was announced. Luck... or devine punishment? You decide.

BathTub

Wow, how do you respond to a gift like that?

"Gee, you shouldn't have,... no really, I mean that."

A month later.

"Hey thanks a lot for Battlefield Earth!"

nanites_r_us

lol, yeah. suddenly all these movies my great aunt sally sends me for my birthday have new meaning. well so long as i have the trax to go with them... other wise i try not to look at them. it just makes me welll up inside :P
You know it's hard enough trying to decide on which movie to see at a theater, much less trying to find someone to help pay the massive amount of money it takes just to see one these days. i mean it'd help if movies these days were actually interesting, but so far no dice on that front...

Thank you. After having seen travolta in his elevator boots and dreadlocks a nice stay at your charming hotel would suit me fine.

I heard about Rifftrax when I realized that Mike Nelson had a MySpace page.  Saw it on there and thought to myself "What is this Rifftrax you speak of?"  Checked it out and nearly peed my pants with delight!!

HFViking55

As obscure as this is, I actually heard about Rifftrax from a Mancow's Morning Madhouse podcast (seeing as he bailed on the Chicago radio market) I downloaded solely cause it said "Mike Nelson" was a guest star, and he was literally like the last 15 min. of the show.  All in all, well worth it to find out about this.  Man I miss MST3K re-runs.
