Maybe I'll wear a THAT MOVIE RVR KEEPS MENTIONING T-shirt for mine ;D

You mean you don't want your head enlarged and spliced onto Paul or Sting's body instead!? :D

As for me, I gave into my own signature and am currently in the ultra-preliminary stages of riffing Jaws: The Revenge, testing the shark-infested waters of fan-riffing until the feature comes up on rifftrax.com.  From there I'll decide if I can access the technology to follow through with it, but I figured I'd start asking the basic questions JUST IN CASE there are any actual answers out there.

(I just conceived the disturbing image of MY head pasted onto Lorraine Gary or Michael Caine's body... :gouge:  Maybe I should rethink this whole thing... :D)
Featuring the taxpayer-funded efforts of Blue Raja, Hellcat, and Skyroniter!

Hang on a few months, and you'll be able to sell your own riffs on this site.  Maybe get your script recorded in the meantime.  Could make for a fun project. :)

That would be terrible, if true. Wouldn't that present the very real risk of dilluting the effect of the original "riffers" if anyone is allowed to add their own riffs to the site?

I've been a MST3K fan since watching my first episode, Sidehackers, and I've been a loyal Rifftrax user since discovering the site a while back. While I'm glad to see the addition of "Rifftrax Presents" as a method of delivering more riffs to the people, I worry that adding anything more will create a clutter of mostly unfunny noise with the occasional gem mixed in. Hell, the main page is cluttered enough with the addition of the aforementioned "Rifftrax Presents" banners. Anything else thrown in would make the site an absolute nightmare to navigate, which serves only to upset fans and scare away potential new customers.

Keep it simple guys.

Now I'll crawl back into my hole, since I'm sure I've offended several people here -- if not with my words, perhaps with the fact that I dare speak out of turn in only my third post on the message boards.

Hey, so I haven't been around in a while and just caught this post.  You jerk!

No, just kidding.  You stated your point well and did so without coming across as a troublemaker or a complainer or whatever.  You, sir, are a model forum member and I hope you stick around for a long time as part of this little family. (And just like with my real family, we don't see each other very often, but I love them all just the same. -- That was really lame.  Forgive me.)  I'm probably one of the most guilty for trying too hard to maintain the good atmosphere around here by speaking up when I see something said here that wouldn't fly in real life.  I should probably just laugh it off like most do.  Next time...  But nothing wrong with your post.  And welcome to the boards -- a couple months late!  Thanks for joining us, for being civil in your disagreement, and for understanding if we're I'm a little overzealous at times. :)

Yeah it would suck if this suddnely became a site where non-rifftrax stuff was being sold just because it was actually getting viewers and.. oh woops.

In any case, maybe the solution is to have a separate area for the fan riffs and also to have them ranked by viewers so that the first pages would contain (according to the viewers) the best ones and the sucky ones would end up on the last pages that people might not bother looking at (if that makes sense).

torgosPizza

That's the plan.

Separate areas, ranking systems (peer review FTW) and some other enhancements.

With the new design of the site it won't be "an absolute nightmare" to navigate. Don't worry, we've been working on this for a long time now and have had time to think it through.

That's what the charming old guy from "Jurassic Park" said...

BathTub

Yeah but when the RiffTrax suck they don't eat the customers.

dignan

Well...not yet, anyway, but I'm sure you're working on that for '09.
