There was a Roadhouse 2?! :gouge:
yeah, I missed it too..

Heard it was like Caddyshack 2.. Most of the original stars weren't in the sequel, which explains how it got 'over-looked'.. ::)

QuoteWell, at least this time they won't have to make up a stupid ass fake war for the movie.

Hey, if the current rumblings of war with Iran are true, we might even see F-14s back in combat in real life soon - and in the movie if that's who Tom and the gang make the official Bad Guys™.

P.S. One of the other boards I frequent is a scale model builders' forum, and even the hardcore military hardware nerds over there are wincing big-time at this.

Cruise has a cameo in Tropic Thunder?

Damn.   I was thinking of seeing that.   >:(

Yeah, I hear Verne Troyer will be "taking the reigns" as Maverick in TG2

Now, now. Cruise is tolerable when he's in a supporting role. His portrayal of Austin Powers in Goldmember was one of the funnier bits in the film. And he was entertaining playing himself in that Ben Stiller short where Stiller played Cruise's stuntman. Er, this thing:

It's just when he's in the lead (Which is most of the time) that he spirals out of control into his usual Cruiseiness.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

Nah....too tall.

(his Goldmember "cameo" was just this side of a still picture...and it wasn't hard to look good compared to the rest of Goldmember)

It's funny one should mention Austin Powers in this thread about Top Gun

QuoteVal Kilmer (Heat) revealed to MTV News that he is the man behind the "Austin Powers" character Mini-Me, famously played by Vern Troyer. "[I created] Mini-Me you know," said Kilmer. "[I was] the genesis of Mini-Me."

He continued to explain: "[On] 'Island of Dr. Moreau' I told Marlon Brando my plan to save my performance just in case there was a giant whole in the second half - I was going to strap the little man to my chest. And, you know, you can't get around that visual. And then he [Brando] STOLE my little man!"

According to Kilmer, Mike Myers watched the film and admitted to getting the idea from "Island of Dr. Moreau." "I asked Mike Myers about it myself," explained Kilmer. "He said, 'absolutely' [it came from that movie]. Same studio made it. And he saw a screening and said, 'that's really funny.'"

Here's a recap of it.  And no, it's not from the Agony Booth (it's from the Spoony Experiment), so it's safe to read.

Yeah, Now I'm convinced that somehow I missed this, purposely :-X

Caddyshack 2 was Citizen Caine compared to Meatballs 2.

Seems this thread should be rechristened  "Summer Sequels: Beating A Dead Horse"

While we're at it, howzabout  the 'eagerly' anticipated sequel Mummy 3?

What's next?  "The Mummy 4: Montazumas' Revenge?"

Or "The Day Teh Earth Stood, Like, Still, Dude"  w/ Keanu Reeves?

Has anyone seen The Jerk, Too? (Yes, that is how the title is spelled.) What a piece of crap. Directed by Michael Schultz, the man behind the camera on Car Wash and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Thom_Serveaux

Don't you get the feeling that some of these directors are quietly siphoning of monies from these turkey's budgets into an offshore account in the Caymans?
