Terry Brooks' Shannara series
« on: August 12, 2008, 04:50:31 PM »
So, i've gotten though 15 of the 20 books in the series or in the universe. Has anyone else read them? I've gotten through the Sword of Shannara trilogy, the Heritage of Shananra quartet, the Voyage of the Jerle Shanara trilogy, and the High Druid of Shannara trilogy. Also First King of Shannara. And Indomitable.

Nice series, eh? But stop having children, dammit! We don't need more than 20 books in a series!

Unless the series is Discworld.

An even then it's like a few different series really.

Sadly there will be an end to Discworld sooner rather than later  :'(

Could never get into Brooks.

Ha... Oh, don't worry, there's always a druid somewhere.

Though, yes, the first one was appallingly li8ke reading Lord of the Rings.  It's a decent fantasy seres, even if it isn't the most spectacular and the names get more and more ridiculous as the series goes on. I'm sorry, but "maw grint" is NOT a name!
