Dammit! This Sux for us.. :(

From ESPN
Quote
Panthers could franchise Peppers

Defensive end Julius Peppers let the Carolina Panthers know he is looking for a change of scenery.

"The front office has been informed of my desire to explore opportunities with other NFL teams following the expiration of my contract next month," Peppers said in a statement released by his agent Carl Carey. "At this point in my NFL career, I am seeking new challenges that will allow me to grow, develop and reach my personal potential on the football field.

"I strongly feel that making a move at this time is in my best interest. I appreciate the entire Panthers organization and am thankful for the seven seasons I've spent with the team."

The Panthers would have to pay Peppers, 28, nearly $17 million to franchise him for the 2009 season. Peppers has been in Carolina his entire career, seven seasons.

"Julius is firm in his decision that he needs a change," Carey said. "He feels that he can thrive in another system. While he has been selected to four Pro Bowls and designated as an All-Pro during his career, he feels that he has yet to develop to his full potential. This is the case of a great player who seeks to become an elite one."
I Hope this isn't a sign of things to come during our offseason :scared:

Spagnuolo is good with elite D-linemen, just ask Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora.  Going to miss that guy, hope he does well there, except against my Giants.

I've been catching up on local details that along with Peppers, Jordon Gross's contract is up as well, and there's a coaching shakeup in the works; on the Defensive side currently.. :o

The most likely option I'm hearing is to 'Franchise' Peppers and trade him to get some 1st to 3rd round draft picks.. Even another Quarterback is an option despite our 3 under contract currently, and Still Delomme's future is secure for at least the next season.. :-[

I am a pleased Rams fan today.    We actually have a professional GM and a professional coach now!

Time to get a Pepper!

So anyway, there's these 'fish' teams playing in the playoffs today..

What's everyone's pics for the Super Bowl?

Mine: It'll be an All Pennsylvania Super Bowl: Eagles & Steelers with a Steelers win :-\

I'm rooting for the Warners today.    I dont give a hoot about the Cardinals, but I am rooting for Warner.

And I think Pittsburg will score just enough to win today.

And since Billecheck is not around to tape the Superbowl walk throughs this time, Warner wins another.
