'Course, it depends on which Eagles show up.  And which Vikings show up.  The Eagles that beat the Cowboys, or the Eagles that lost to Washington?  The Vikings that crushed Arizona, or the Vikings who fumbled the game away against Atlanta?  Neither team is consistent week in and week out.

It'll be interesting to see.

Assuming, of course, that it's even on television.

True..
My pics could just as well be way off..

I'd rather see the Cardinals come to the Panthers backyard as they'd be easier to defeat than the Falcons anyway :P

Only an hour left for the Vikings to sell the rest of their tickets.  There were 3100 left at the start of the day.

I really hope this game doesn't get blacked out locally.  To have a playoff game blacked out would just be embarrassing.  Even the Cardinals were able to sell out their game.

That's Shocking that a home playoff game can't be sold out!

I know for sure the Panthers game is sold out as there were only 7100 seats available and all the rest were owned by license holders so my chances of attending the game just 2 days after my return home from Mexico are slim to none :(

Vikings game to be televised

Whew.

Honest to Clapton, I swear we have some of the worst fans in the league.  We needed 48 extra hours to sell out our first home playoff game in EIGHT YEARS.  Bad economy or no, this is PATHETIC.  I have a sinking feeling that there's going to be a lot of green jerseys in the stands.

That being said, I'm relieved that we were at least able to sell the damned game out.  Even though filling the stadium was like herding cats.

I've heard a lot of people compare the Vikings to the Boston Red Sox in that they've fielded so many competitive teams through the years but never won the big one (though that's changed in recent years for the Sox, obviously).  The main difference, however, lies in the fans.  Red Sox fans have always been insufferable - when they didn't win, or did something detrimental to their chances, they let you know in as shrill a tone as possible.

Your average Vikings fan, by contrast, is a subdued fatalist.  They pretty much submit themselves to the notion that the Vikings will ALWAYS choke and will NEVER win the big one, as if they're somehow cursed.  They'll always trot out examples like the 1970s Vikings who lost 4 Super Bowls, or, for those younger fans, the 1998 squad.  Never mind the fact that the players from those teams aren't playing anymore.  That's MORE than proof enough for them.  They reason that if they don't EXPECT a championship out of their favorite team, they won't be disappointed when they don't get one.  As a result, much of the Vikings fanbase exhibits a bizarre mixture of dissatisfaction and complacency.

The most common reason I heard people using for not buying tickets wasn't the economy.  It was stuff like "Why should I go?  They're going to lose anyway," or "Why should I give my money to a bunch of overpaid losers?" or "Childress can't win" (never mind that the team already got THIS far).

So in summary, a Red Sox fan is a jackass, while a Vikings fan is a vegetable.  There are exceptions, of course.  The die-hards always hold out hope for a championship.  There's a significant segment of the fanbase, however, that only uses the words "Maybe next year," or "Any given Sunday" sarcastically.  And that, I think, is the underlying issue.

Well the little red birds were holding their own 14-3 till the end of the 2nd qtr then the big black birds started fighting back..
17-14 at the 1/2

Unfortunately, I look for the Falcons to dominate the rest of the game..

Actually, if the Iggles win, they play the Giants.  If the Vikings win, we play you.

I would like to be able to root for the Vikings and/or Panthers over the Cardinals....... but come on man, it's Kurt Warner!
