Disco is a fucking hell of a lot better than the shit that's being farted out of the mainstream pop and lame-ass punk acts today.

Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Yes this is a nice return to form for Napalm Death. Although I did like the last one too.

Thanks to an article in my most recent issue of Garden & Gun (which is seriously the best non-cooking magazine I've read in a long time), I've been listening to a band from Lafayette, Louisiana band called Feufollet. They are decidedly modernized Cajun -- all of the elements are there and they sing in French, but their sound is as modern as anything I've ever heard from the Decemberists or Fleet Foxes. This song, "Au Fond du Lac", is evidently getting them some notice.

I miss posting in a music thread on a now all but defunct forum I frequent, so I guess I'll take it up here.

It's been a few months since I've gotten any new music since I'm poor now (and not into piracy much). Thankfully, 8bitpeoples.com still releases (free) albums occasionally, and the latest three have all been good.

Jellica — Safafa [link]

Laid back chip grooves. This is what Mega Man listens to as he cruises the freeways of Tokyo, standing atop Rush with his head cocked back and just enjoying the night air. He lights a cigarette on the heated inner wall of the MegaBuster and breathes out a smoke trail behind him while the multifarious lights of the city wash over him.

exileFaker — Ockham's Chainsaw [link]

This is more driving groove rock. Of these three, it sounds the most like an actual video game soundtrack. I wish more classic games had soundtracks this good. To be clear, it's far from the best chiptune album, but it's a lot of fun from beginning to end. And, again, it's free.

Knife City — Knife City [link]

And we arrive at full-on rave. Knife City is simple and brash enough to be basely satisfying and complex enough to really hook you—the prerequisites for a really good techno/club album.

Japanese electro-rock. Released: April 25

I'm really liking this new album & am giving it some serious playback. "Two Lone Swallows" is for me the best song on the album.

Got lots of '70s and '80s cheese in my collection.  Wish I had more.  I love this stuff.
