She Creature -  Gets funnier with each viewing.  Riffing is great but what else would you expect from the only film ever to have a scene with a dog being hypnotized?  Still, this is one of those episodes that might take a couple of viewings to appreciate.

Samson vs. The Vampire Women

I had checked MST3Kinfo shortly before viewing this all the way through, where the reviewer stated this episode was, for them, in the "Good, not great" category.

I don't know why, but I often find myself disagreeing a LOT with the reviews on MST3Kinfo.  Joel/Mike aside, I always tend to like later episodes better, just because I think the rhythms of the gags and the atmosphere got more comfortable.  This is one is no exception.  I hadn't seen this one until now, but my God, this one had me going the whole time, especially with Trace doing the Professor imitation.  Even so, I still think Mike had the best line of the whole thing:

"Sometimes lint gets in your eye and creates ghoulish shapes.  It happens to everyone!"
Runner-up: "I don't know.  I just came home and they were here." (Paraphrase)

That, and all the vampires karate-chopping people to death is just hysterical.  Nothing says undead creatures of the night like a "cheap thug" smack to the back of the neck.

Magic Sword

Another episode I didn't care for at first but have grown to enjoy quite a bit.  Fun riffing on A fun movie.  Rathbone is always worth watching and he makes a great villian.  Interesting to see Gary Lockwood in this too.  One of the very very very few MST films I actually might have paid for to see in the theater.

Yeah no matter how bad the movie you can't go wrong with Rathbone.  I don't think the Sherlock Holmes movies he did were that great but I still watch them just for him and Nigel Bruce.  Have you ever seen The Adventures of Robin Hood?  If not rent it,I think it has Rathbone in his best villain role.
