I Just Finished Watching...
« on: April 07, 2008, 05:58:51 AM »
We have a thread similar to this over on the MST3K Discussion forum. And I like the idea of it, so I thought I'd start  one like it here...

Feel free to post the most recent MST3K episode(s) that you've viewed and your thoughts, musings and/or reviews...
It could be the first time you've seen them or the 10th...doesn't matter.

Oh, great idea for a thread!  ;)

I just finished watching 310 - FUGITIVE ALIEN and 318 - STAR FORCE: FUGITIVE ALIEN II this weekend.
Classics!...real icons in MST history. I think Fugitive Alien II was slightly funnier, but both were good. And who could ever get enough of:
"He tried to kill him with a forklift!"  :)

Pod People. A true classic MST3K episode.

A couple nights ago I watched Devil Fish for the first time in a long time.  It's got some classic stuff in it, and even the skits are above average in this episode.

Tom Servo doing the sounds of opening and chugging beer after beer really got me chuckling.

And who could forget the MST3K globe that had to cover up an unexpected.....ball.  Yikes.

I finished Werewolf...  again.

I STILL laugh at the joke at the very beginning, where Tom says a stupid joke and Crow says he's gonna tell Mike....   It gets me every time!!!!!

I saw Teenage Strangler again the other day - actually, spread out over a few days at about 20-30 minutes before I go to bed - and it's the epitome of "small-town gets together to make a movie".  It's lousy, but even without the riffing, I think I'd still enjoy the heck out of it.

A couple of days ago I watched Village of the Giants for the first time. Very funny stuf. It reminded me of the old Tommy Kirk Disney movies like Flubber.

I particularly liked the riff about Tom recognizing the bubblegum machine as his mom and being heartbroken seeing the one guy get a gumball out of it.

"Parts: The Clonus Horror" on the most recent DVD set. I got more of the obscure references in this episode than in any other and that made it so much more hilarious. For example, I think maybe three people ever got Servo's reference making fun of the opening music.

I watched Manos yesterday while folding clothes. My 16 month old daughter greatly enjoyed the haunting Torgo's theme.  ;D

This is the exact same thing I do too...
Watch 'em a little bit at a time. Usually I watch from one host segment to the next before I nod off to sleep.

Right now, I'm in the middle of 306 - TIME OF THE APES. After watching Fugitive Alien 1 and 2, it put me in a Sandy Frank mood.
I noticed that the voice of evil army leader in Apes is the same voice of Captain Joe from Fug Alien.

I am having a Mistie marathon and just finished watching Final Sacrifice which I can never stop laughing at even though I have probably watched it 30 times so far.  Next up is The Incredible Melting Man.  I really do love Ted Nelson.
