Small plug for live-movie riffing in Kansas City, MO.
The Screenland Theatre at the Crossroads (
www.screenland.com/events.html) (1656 Washington, Kansas City, Mo. 64108, 816.421.9700) will be instituting their inaugural Movie Roast with the riff-worthy film, "Hackers" on Friday, April 11th at 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 12th at 9:00 PM. The comedians that will be doing the riffing are Bess Wallerstein, Tommy Todd, and Erik Johnson from the local comedy troupe Counter Clockwise Comedy (
http://counterclockwisecomedy.com/). Tickets are $8.
The Kansas City Star did a nice article (
http://www.kansascity.com/entertainment/columnists/robert_w_butler/story/568216.html) on it.
I have no investment in the success of this venture - I don't know anyone at
The Screenland or anyone in
Counter Clockwise. I just think it's really neat that this particular art form is appearing again.
