It was more tasteful/true to the show than Team Knight Rider or Knight Rider 2010.  What the hell was 2010 even called Knight Rider for? Just to get morons like me to watch I guess.  They didn't even mention the damn Knight Foundation or anything.  At least Team Knight Rider was somewhat with the theme of the Foundation and FLAG, even though it sucked.

I, myself, liked Knight Rider 2000 but, I admit to being madly in love with William Daniels as KITT.  I even watched Boy Meets World just for him.  He could probably snark as the Hoff danced naked on a trans-am and I'd still watch. . . I'd have to have my mind gouged out afterwards, but I'd probably enjoy at least Daniels'.

I think I will need at least several quarts of *Jack* Daniels, plus the mind gouging, to erase that mental image from my mind.

Thanks, Amanda. Or do you prefer Gal?    ;D

I was done after five seconds of watching that dude's hot rod start smoking after he bumped it into his garage door. Must have the same guts as all those cars on TV that blow up when they crash.

they totally lost me with the whole lesbo surfer fbi agent.  i can't stand it when characters exist only to boost ratings.  i stopped watching after that.

For me, it comes down to The Hoff. If The Hoff isn't riding around solving crimes with his robot car, then I'm just not interested.

Also, the new KITT completely lacked personality, in my opinion. There were times in the original show where KITT would come very close to calling Michael a stupid idiot (I could hear it in KITT's voice). This one didn't seem the least bit interested in possibly calling its driver names. This disapoints me. Cars should be able to do that.

Which is why I stated earlier that I can't pass a real final judgement until I've seen the whole thing start to finish.

It was a red, highly modified Dodge Stealth.  It was called "Knight Rider FOUR Thousand" which makes this KITT (The "three thousand") out of line anyway.

Michael was retired and fishing and such in that movie, which was set in the year 2000 (where microchips are implanted into cops, they have cyro prisons, etc.  Yeah, that didn''t really happen in the year 2000).  This movie doesn't take that series into account at all.

Also, KITT and KIFT were produced in huge labs on the foundation property, not some dude's basement.

So essentially what I'm getting here is that Knight Rider's continuity is to be taken with a grain of salt? If so, then it and the timeline flubs in Terminator will be the death of me.

I guess so.  You would have thought they would have considered it.  Honestly, when I saw KITT at the beginning in pieces, I was expecting Michael to dash off in KIFT.  That would have made total sense. . . well, besides new KITT being Three Thousand. Oh well.  I said I wouldn't obsess.

Do you even want to talk about where Team Knight Rider fits in?  Michael Knight was in one of those episodes too.  They concluded in that one "One man" shouldn't be allowed to make a difference unchecked. It was better to balance the power in a team.  So, what the freakin' hell?!  I guess they went back and decided that wasn't a good idea afterall?

Yes, grain of salt.  It's just a movie.

I kind of expected the Hoff to ride off in KITT's cousin, KRAPP, with half a hamburger hanging out of his mouth, mumbling intelligibly into the camera. Ah well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Nah, I think you should base your whole life around Knight Rider continuity.

There's nothing wrong with that.  Not that I would know from experience.  I was just saying that for Tyrant's sake.

[/hides her self made Knight Rider Timeline and self-written fanfiction, complete with casting and directing cues, that fill in the gaps]

(and yes, I'm joking. I've never written a fan fic)
