Some friends and I are going to see it Sunday evening.

I did watch a video from Da Ali G show on Borat, and it was fairly entertaining.

It looks good, from what I've seen, but we'll see...

My favorite part was when he threw his bag down and the rooster squawked.

So many groups are lining up to sue them.  I hope they have air-tight release forms.  Visiting the Pentacostal (?) revival meeting was great, but I was waiting for Borat to drop some much more provocative lines on them.   What group was having the convention that the fight crashed into??

With this flick,  Little Miss Sunshine and Clerks II, it's been a pretty decent year for movies appealing to my sense of humor.  Mileage may vary for others....

So a couple of friends and I saw it Sunday night...

Yes, it was offensive, yes it was hard to watch in some parts, yes it was hilarious!!!

No, it was not the funniest movie ever made. No, it does NOT rank in the top ten funniest movies of all time. But it's right up there!

I loved seeing the drunken frat boys act like the complete fools they truly are!

That was disturbing. But why did they blur out Borat's? Maybe to make it seem like he had a 1 1/2 foot wang.

Borat was funny, but way too overrated. The critics who praise this film to be the funniest movie of all time are giving Sacha Baron Cohen too much credit.  Yes, it was hilarious, but the humor focused primarily on Borat's silly antics, with very little focus given to revealing social biases and idiosynchrasies among Americans (only a bad thing because the previews mislead me to believe this is what the movie would focus on).  My favorite part <spoiler> was when Borat went to the Evangelical Revival and became a born-again Christian.  It was hilarious to see those fat kids dance across the stage and convulse, like Star Wars kid on crack, and Borat just stand there in the middle of it with a confused look on his face.  Cohen didn't have to do anything in that scene except wear that expression; it was bizarre enough.
