Heh heh.  Though to be totally accurate, she'd need bigger tits and be wearing lots and lots of pouches.

True. She is dangerously small-chested and insufficiently pouched.

Might want to give her some freakish pointy elf-feet and shape-shifting hair while you're at it.

Well, the fact that her feet and hands are conspicuously out of frame does recall Liefield as well...

I really enjoyed Cable when he was first introduced.  Not so much for the art, more for the concept*.  Rob just can't excute on any of his ideas.

But since he's good at concepts (and apprently selling himself) he thinks he can let the other things slide.

I tend to get emotionally involved in stories and characters I enjoy and when they get the short end of the stick, I get irritated.

Liefield can't write or draw.  Jim Lee can't write. Etc...

I'm not really a fan of Jim Lee's comics, haha.  Do you ever get confused going panel to panel and think "Wait, I read this, where do I go?" Maybe it's just me.  But damnit, if I can read a Chris Ware comic, then it's got to be Lee!

It's even worse if you try to read several Jim Lee comics in a row...it's like the guy can't plot farther out than two issues.  He sure can draw the hotties though.

More like he can draw A hottie. He basically just draws different hair, costumes, and, if needed, different breast sizes and calls them different names. You want someone who can actually draw women who look different from each other, go read JSA.

I have to say, my favorite artist who actually recognizes that there are different body types is Alan Davis.

Alan Moore wrote a few comics for Liefeld's company that really suffered from Rob's art.   There was also some mini-series that had art pages alternating between Rob's and Gil Kane's.  It was just mind-boggling to see art from one of the classic super-hero artists (Kane, of course) and then turn the page to see some of Rob's shit.
Liefeld's not the only one to hide feet so he doesn't have to draw them.  Jim Lee has done a hell of a lot of that himself.

Great stuff!  Art like this is exactly why I stopped collecting comics sometime in the early 90's.

You should have moved on to good comics, rather than just giving it up. There's been  a lot of good work put out since then; Hellblazer, Sandman, The Invisibles, From Hell, Preacher, Hellboy & the BPRD, Fables, Eightball,  Doom Patrol, Ex Machina, Y: The Last Man, 100 Bullets, Love & Rockets. THe League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, DMZ, Sin City, The Exterminators, The Filth...the list goes on.

Once in a great while I will pick up something new.  I enjoyed Sin City for instance along with many of the things Alex Ross has illustrated.  But it's easier (and much, much cheaper) to give them up.  The only things I buy regularly are the Marvel Essentials releases.  I love the silver age stuff.

That was a tough time.  We're talking early 90's.  Sure, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison were doing good stuff, but it was the ART AGE, when everyone who Todd McFarlane handed a pencil to  became the hot new artist with his own new title.

If I were thirty years old THEN I might have thought more clearly, but it was all an artistic blur then.
