I love doing themed movie marathons like this.  The last time I did one we did all three Mad Max movies.  They're pretty bad, the first one is ok though.

Can't we just get beyond thunderdome?  ;D

I think you've just disappointed 20 other people in this forum who wanted to post this.   :)

I liked "V for Vendetta" too.  Erm...not much more I can add to that.   :)

I did however, watch the movie as a part of a "totalitarian state" movie day.  First it was V for Vendetta, then 1984, then Brazil and the, because I had no other decent movies to accompany them, Running Man.   ;D

Brazil is the best of the lot, though.

It's just the kind of movie Mike hates: amoral, pretentious, ultra-violent, overrated and full of creepy and/or disturbing scenes.

Sounds perfect!  ;) I haven't seen it yet, but if that's true -- and I got that impression from the reviews -- then it's very riffable indeed.

Yeah, we all know priests aren't interested in girls.

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

signatured.

I hope I've said more interesting and witty things than that here. It was late and I was getting grumpy. But I am honored to star in two separate posters' signatures.

What really aggrivated me about V was that Alan Moore, the guy who created the graphic novel, got no credit whatsoever in the film. Apparently, he had a bit of a falling out with DC.

IIRC, he asked the studio to withhold his credit.  Considering the changes that were made to the story from comic to movie form, it's not surprising.  Old Mr. Moore, for  (and probably because of) all his talent, is pretty much the typical Insufferable Artist, and isn't that fond of people he doesn't aprovve of playing with his toys.

Personally, I had a lot of problems with the movie (as detailed in an earlier post), so I wouldn't mind it getting Riffed.

Yeah he asked for it to be removed. As much as he is a good writer, he also seems to be a bit of an old coot!  ;D

The scene with Natalie Portman in the schoolgirl dress with the lecherous priest is offensive to Catholics (not to mention agnostics, atheiests, buddhists, muslims and sentient beings everywhere).

How could anything but hilarity follow?

The whole deal with the priest is one of the least altered elements from the book.
