The Comedy
A very... dark movie. And a few scenes that I found quite hard to watch. Stars Tim and Eric, but isn't really a comedy. It's about a bunch of aging trust-fund hipsters who are ironic in every aspect of their lives, and how hollow they are. Tim's rich father is dying and he just doesn't seem to care. Another family member is also in a bad way, but that isn't revealed until later in the film, so I won't mention what is happening there and he just has no connection to anything, or any idea of consequence.
Also has Gregg Turkington (Neil Hamburger), a guy from LCD Soundsystem (Sorry guy, I don't know your name) and a few other musicians popping up here and there (including, weirdly and unexpectedly, the lead singer of my favourite band, Will Sheff.
It ends up being a string of events rather than really being a story - It's more of a character study of Tim's character. He is amazing in it, actually. A real dramatic role, it was really impressive.
Immediately after the film, I wasn't sure how to feel, but after talking about it and thinking about it, I think it was really great. Kind of reminds me of Sophia Coppela's Somewhere only worth watching.
