Chernobyl Diaries - Made by the guy behind Paranormal Activity, Chernobyl Diaries is a really shitty horror movie about a group of American tourists who decide to take a guided and illegal tour of Chernobyl. Then they're stranded there and at the mercy of wild animals and the mutated humans who apparently never left. So we sort of have a crappy mixture of Tarkovsky's Stalker and Wes Craven's Hills Have Eyes, with neither the atmosphere, intelligence, and basic shock factor that either of those supplied. The characters are either one-note or unlikeable, the location work is quite nice but never exploited properly, and you can see where everything's going way in advance of the movie going there. It's really shitty.
Decoy Bride - A slight but charming romantic comedy starring one of my biggest man-crushes, David Tennant. He plays an author who is to marry the biggest star in Hollywood (Alice Eve, lucky girl!) but because of huge media attention, they decide to marry on a remote Scottish island. The story does leak, and Eve's entourage plan a fake wedding with Tennant and a local shop owner (Kelly Mcdonald) to draw them off and the usual romantic comedy complication ensue. As I said, there's not a whole lot to the movie, but it glides by on the skill of the lead actors.
