So who owns the most BAD movies on DVD???
« on: October 10, 2006, 11:30:54 AM »
I?m a huge fan of bad movies.  That being said, I own quite a few on DVD.  I figure that if I want to find other people that also own lots of bad movies, there is nowhere more likely than the rifftrax message board.  Here is a list of the best bad movies I own, I would recommend any of these movies to anyone who likes horrible cinema.  I didn?t include a single one that I didn?t find enjoyable (and trust me I?ve seen plenty that were unwatchable).  If anyone else is willing to post some of their awful collection I would love to see it.  I have just happened upon some of my favorites, so I love to hear suggestions.  If anyone has any questions about any of these movies, feel free to ask, I?ve seen them all.  If anyone is wondeiring none of these movies are from before 1980 and none of them are those cheap 2 dollar "I'm intentionally stupid movies" either.  One last thing, all of these movies are US releases on DVD, so if you are interested in any of them amazon.com is sure to have them (there or Best Buy is where I?ve bought the majority of these).

Bad, but good
1990 BRONX WARRIORS
2019 AFTER THE FALL OF NEW YORK
AMERICAN SAMURAI- So, so funny
BEOWULF- Christopher Lambert version
CLONUS (I?ll admit owning the non-MST version of this is pretty stupid)
DANGEROUS SEDUCTRESS
DEAD HEAT- Treat Williams and Joe Piscapo in a buddy cop/horror movie
FORTRESS 1 AND 2
JECKELL AND HYDE THE MUSICAL starring David Hasselhoff!
HAWK THE SLAYER- Really, really bad sword and sorcery flick
HERCULES 1 AND 2- Lou Ferrigno versions
ICE PIRATES
IMMORTAL COMBAT- Roddy Piper and Sonny Chiba in a buddy cop movie
LADY TERMINATOR- crazy rip-off of the Terminator and one of my favorites
LOGAN?S RUN
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
NEW BARBARIANS- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
OUT FOR JUSTICE
TWISTED JUSTICE
PARASITE
SCI-FIGHTERS
STARCRASH- Hasselhoff and Chirstopher Plummer in an Italian Star Wars Ripoff!!
STEEL DAWN- Swayze in mid 80s post-apocalyptic awesomeness
STEEL FRONTIER
THE SWORD AND THE SORCERESS
THE WARRIOR AND THE SORCERESS
WATCHERS 1 AND 2
WALKER TEXAS RANGER SEASON 1
WALKER TEXAS RANGER FINAL SEASON
KICKBOXER 1-5

Bad Horror
ALONE IN THE DARK
AMERICAN GOTHIC
BLOODRAYNE
THE BEING
THE BLOB
CHOPPING MALL (AKA PIECES)

Bwa-ha-ha!! Wow, you have a lot! Hours of entertainment on dull weekends.

We don't have that many...that I know of. Wait, okay we have RAD,  Supercross, and something like The Last Karate Champion. It's a karate movie and it has a good karate guy who really likes Bruce Lee and a bad karate guy who wears bright red samurai type armore. Geez, I can't remember the name of it but when you're really good you get this super karate power. The bad guy glows red, and eventually the good guy gets it too but his is yellow.

I'm sure there are more lurking in our collection of VHS tapes.

Under my bed I have a shoebox full of bad movies (DVDs in white sleeves) that I've acquired over the years. Probably 50 or so in there. I don't have a complete list, but here are some of the highlights:

unMSTed Favorites:
The Black Scorpion
The Killer Shrews
The Violent Years
The Beast of Yucca Flats
Horrors of Spider Island
Night of the Blood Beast
Warrior of the Lost World
The Magic Sword
Clonus
Squirm
Diabolik

MST related:
Ator the Fighting Eagle (sequel to movie shown in 301 Cave Dwellers)
Lots of Corman and Bert I Gordon crap

Additional Badness
Cocaine Fiends
Invasion of the Bee Girls
Class of Nuke 'Em High
Kingdom of the Spiders (Shatner!)
and countless cheapie collections ("Outer Space Collection!" "The Horror Box!" etc.)

And, thanks to RiffTrax, I now own a stack of modern "classics" I probably would have otherwise avoided.

Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Funny you should say that.  I don't have a more appropirate section for it in my DVD collection, so I had to really think hard about where to put it.  So, yeah I agree maybe that isn't exactly bad, but it sure is easy to make fun of.

I love RAD! If you have it on DVD then you got a bootleg. RAD is a great movie if you were into freestyle and BMX in general. It had some of the best freestylers ever. Eddie Fiola, R.L. Osbourne, Mike Dominguez, Brian Blyther, Ron Wilkerson to name a few. Back then there was one guy who could do the backflip(his name escapes me right now). In 1985-86 that was a big deal. That dude even joined the circus with that one trick.
