Death of the Enterprise
« on: July 10, 2007, 02:30:41 PM »
Who else thought the destruction of the Enterprise was weak and poorly thought out.  They should have had a way more heroic death for the old girl.  I was pretty cheap to have it blown away by a 20 year old Bird of Prey in like 2 minutes.  It was just badly written.  If I was in command I would have emptied my entire compliment of torpedoes into that bitch as fast as the launcher could throw them.  Sure the BoP was shooting through the shields, but I dont think it would have lasted long against a nonstop barrage of over 200 photon torpedoes.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Guys, it got killed because Riker was in command. I'm actually surprised the ship lasted as long as it did. It should have blown up the instant Picard beamed down to the surface of the planet.

I'm just amazed the had the blasted frequency of the shield right there in full view for any: traitor, diplomat, intruder,etc..... to read.
It reminds me of the shmucks who write down the combination to a safe right on the wall next to the safe and then wonder why there stuff is gone.

Yeah, considering the number of times someone working against the Enterprise has been right there it's shocking they lasted as long as they have.  And you'd think the second they shot through the shields they would change the frequency.  They did this on the fly in other episodes.  Sure the ship might be damaged by that initial shot but the Klingons would only get one.

Yeah, and I guess Riker forgot the "Change the shields to modulation pattern B" after the shields went down the first time.

And Star Trek 3.  And it really got trashed bad in 2 (a.k.a. the one worth seeing even if you don't really care about Star Trek) but they manage to survive.

I personally got really tired of the whole "jettison the saucer section" thing. It was cool the first time, but they went to the well to often on that one.

what would have really been cool,is they did an auto destruct sequence, and had the crew leave with escape pods, and we could have seen the Big E blow up all Michel bay style......
