That hard hitting expose on Country fairs is a shoe in for the Pulitzer surely?

That's County Fairs, my sophisticated friend. With pig races and tractor pulls.

Man, I love pig races. The pigs don't care who wins. Most of 'em don't even know it's a race.

Ah see it'd be Country Fair in England, more fun transatlantic diversity.

County Fair differentiates it from State Fair. State Fairs attract a higher class of washed-up musical acts. The County Fair gets Johnny No-Name, while the State Fair gets Billy One-Hit-Wonder. Big difference. :D

All you get at Country fairs are the Wurzels and a couple of Suffolk Punches, ooh and a DEFRA information booth.

I'm imaging the church fundraiser in Hot Fuzz.

Both county and state fairs feature the 4H club, as showcased in the A Day At The Fair short, but the prettiest, most impressive livestock sit out the county fairs, not deigning to grace we lowly yokels with their magnificent presence.

Well I can honestly admit to owning a whole heaping pile of indiepop though for the group county fairs will certainly be more interesting.

Two albums I picked up on Monday that are sitting next to my work computer ... this can definitely be defined as indiepop

while this post-Pavement side-project is closer to janglepop

of course this ain't the only style I enjoy ... f'r instance the best record I picked up on Monday ...

Where else can you see Connecticut's fattest rabbit?   Or, G. Puckett and the Union Gap, for that matter :)

It's completely obvious where The Hold Steady ripped off their style and sound - Thin Lizzy.  Why the critics all namedrop Bruce Springsteen I don't understand.
