Spread the word about the Riff-Off
« on: September 26, 2006, 05:07:08 PM »
The Riff-Off is a great way for people who haven't gotten into RiffTrax yet to learn about the site.  No purchase necessary, no effort to synch it, no renting a movie, but a chance for glorious free money!

So help spread the word!  Digg the story:  http://www.digg.com/movies/The_First_Ever_RiffTrax_Riff_Off

Post on forums!

Etc, etc!

Where can I find this riff off? The link in the post was just a picture.

Fixed the Digg link.  Info on the riff-off is on the RiffTrax homepage.

#1 Does it have to be one person?

#2  Do they select the clip?

#2  Do they select the clip?

When you download the entry package, there is a template to fill in lines on and a five minute clip of the Matrix.  You use those five minutes.  It's pretty self explanatory when you get it, there are lines and timecode from the clip that you just fill in the riffs for.

For your first question, do you mean entry wise or riffing wise?  Write these just like you are riffing them yourself, without a partner, just like Mike will be doing.  Let's not get too complicated here.

NOTE: That advice may change tomorrow when I talk to everyone about that, since we hadn't even asked ourselves that question.  But I think that keeping it simple is always a good idea.

I am curious about the first question. Can two people enter the contest with a single entry? Obviously the script would be written for one person delivering the riffs. Just wondering about the partner thing.

UPDATE:  People have asked if they can submit entries in teams and whether they could write the Riff for more than one voice.

The answers are no and no

Well, if the answer to this question was "one person only" what would stop you from writing it with a friend and just submitting it under one persons name?  I don't think teaming up to write is a big deal.

That is true, multiple people can write it and submit as one but if and I am talking a BIG IF here, if we were to win I would want both to be credited with the win. I didn't know if somewhere in the rules that wasn't allowed since the winner has to sign affidavits and releases and what not.
