Rifftrax Moviewatching Events
« on: September 26, 2006, 03:12:27 PM »
Fellow Riffaholics...

I just wanted to let you all know that I hosted a Rifftrax Moviewatching Event last weekend in my apartment in Dallas, Texas, and it was a smashing success! I thought it would be cool if we could share our Rifftrax experiences. They really do work better with a crowd.

I was the only one in the room who'd seen any Rifftrax, yet the response was phenomenal!! There were only 6 people, including myself, but the good times were had by all.
We watched Star Trek V, and some of them were laughing so hard, they couldn't breathe!

I will be holding another event next weekend, and I assume we'll be watching Top Gun. There might be more people this time, so the word will spread far and wide. Rifftrax is here to stay!!!

Me and a friend watched xXx and Roadhouse with Rifftrax. He enjoyed it alot...an extra lot 'cause he was high at the time. Don't worry, it's legal here.

I'd also like to mention that plenty of beer was consumed...

kinda helps things stay loose.

And makes it more fun!

5th element went over WAY better at my house than Star Trek 5 did.

I attribute this partially to the consumption of alcohol.

Though "Bullshit, captain!" is a popular quote amongst my friends now.

Watched Road House with my brother, his wife and a buddy of ours...whats that make?...4 total I guess  ???

It was a sucess! We were on the floor with laughter and this was my 3rd time viewing it.

I do like the sounds of making Rifftrax viewings an annual event/party/evening for several friends and family to enjoy.

I watch Rifftrax with my wife and our cat, does that count as a moviewatching party?  She's no sci-fi geek but she's certainly been subjected to her share of MST3K over the years.  Some of it she enjoyed but many movies she gave up on because they are damn near unwatchable as movies go.  Writing jokes for something like "Monster A Go Go" was truly a heroic effort.  So far she's sat through and enjoyed all the Rifftrax though.  I think this is the big advantage that Rifftrax has.  The movies used are just plain more watchable than most of the dreck they had to use in MST3K so non-fans are more likely to hang in there for the whole thing.

I will bring the ketchup chips and the steak and worchestershire sauce chips!
Hope I don't get pinkeye.
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.
