Those who Rifftrax the old(er)-fashioned way
« on: September 19, 2016, 06:14:35 PM »
Hi. I was wondering if anyone syncs the DVD movie with the rifftrack (I believe that's the singular) in any fashion other than the riffplayer. I used to use the riffplayer, but when I was playing The Room, some scenes were being skipped. so then I found out that playing the movie through a standard DVD player and the MP3 in Audacity makes for a complete, no-skipped-scene experience. I also found it to be easier than doing the arcane, complicated math within the sync files when I could more easily look in the README of the rifftrax to find out where the Disembaudio sync lines start and then play them when they appear in the movie. I have enjoyed this way of using rifftrax so much that I'm leaving the riffplayer for good.

What say you guys? Do you use riffplayer? Or do you use another method to get your riffing action on?

Here is one on re-authoring....

http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?topic=16287.0

Probably out of date but the jist is there.

I only do MP4 files now for all my riffs. There is only a handful of titles that I have yet to do a HD version of.

Oh. The reauthoring ones. Well, I'll stick to the DVD+MP3 method, seeing as it's less infringe-y of copyright…

I've studied copyright law as an a non-attorney amateur who hasn't passed the bar. Considering that Copyright Law is internet law, I do it out of necessity.

Okay, I'm going back to the riffplayer (because I figured out how to create my own sync files). And if not, the rifftrax App (because I've found a good setup therewith). I'm good!
