n 2015 we kicked off The Crappening by riffing The Room live! Due to a certain litigious cast member who will remain nameless (OK, it’s the guy who says “Lisa looks hot tonight” during Johnny’s birthday party) we’re unable to release that live show on our site. But this studio MP3 of the live show is the next best thing!

Consider it a “Special Edition” MP3. Tons of all new jokes, fully riffed sex scenes, and Denny even shoots first! Just borrow a laugh track from Fuller House and you’ll feel like you’re watching it live!

Alley football, underwears, breast cancer, doggy, barbecue chicken rice, framed spoons: The Room has contributed so much to our culture, way more than suckers like Van Gogh or Thomas Pynchon. It is one of our all time favorite bad movies and this MP3 version is the definitive riffing! Join Mike, Kevin, and Bill-R for this studio MP3 of our The Room live show! Do it quickly, before Mark moves to a bigger place - word on the street is he’s making some pretty good money these days.

That is so lame!! We'll see if that actor ever gets in another movie that people actually watch.  Boo on him.
I'm boycotting every movie he does.  Ever.  Screw you, "Lisa is Hot" guy.

Seems like that is a joke. I would imagine it is Tommy who doesn't want anyone else selling it. He doesn't even have it on iTunes or any other digital platforms.

Tommy's infamously paranoid about people stealing his movie. When Adult Swim runs it for April Fools Day, he makes them put up notices that you can buy the film on Amazon during every commercial break.

I finally finished my reauthor of this... I missed a handful of jokes from the 2009 Riff, but in most respects, this new version is superior.  I kind of wish they had more reason to revisit some of their earlier titles and rework them a bit.

It's interesting that certain things they felt they could get away with in 2009 were a no-go in 2016.  References to Lisa not being that attractive were mostly gone, as was one of my favorite lines from Lisa's mother: "I know all about men" ("I used to be one!").  Just a few shorts years, and that one was too un-PC for them (although I love it).

So I just watched the Room with the 2016 rifftrack (I didn't see the live show). So much better than the 2009 original. I'll tell you why:

It's interesting that certain things they felt they could get away with in 2009 were a no-go in 2016.  References to Lisa not being that attractive were mostly gone, as was one of my favorite lines from Lisa's mother: "I know all about men" ("I used to be one!").  Just a few shorts years, and that one was too un-PC for them (although I love it).

That's why I prefer the 2016 version. A lot of my friends are transgender and the virulent and frequent transmisogyny of the 2009 version really put me off (To understand where I'm coming from, It's as if you had a lot of black friends and there were a lot of racist jokes). I'm happy to hear that Rifftrax addressed that in the 2016 version. I will consider it the definitive version from now on!
