Yes.

(I had to Google that to make sure, my knowledge of SNL not being very extensive!)

Is it Throw Momma from the Train?

- Made in the 1980s ('87)
- stars Billy Crystal - SNL castmember
- stars Danny Devito - Taxi Castmember
- Mostly a comedy
- Was a form of "parody" of Strangers on a Train

No.

But I must say, I really thought you were going to get it! I didn't realize there was more than one '80s movie that answered to that description!

That's it.  I was blathing, which means to bluff.

"Liar!  Liar!" - Carol Kane, star of Taxi in Princess Bride, to SNL member Billy Crystal

Another contender (sorta) was Andy Kaufman's Heartbeeps from 1981.  Starred Randy Quaid (SNL member) in a comedic movie that sometimes parodied personas (borscht belt comedian, etc.) with robots.  That movie has the distinction of being sarcastically mentioned by Mike Nelson as "his favorite movie" in Megacheese.

Goodness, who knew there were so many '80s parodies with SNL and Taxi cast members? It's like a whole subgenre in itself!  :D

Heh.  As soon as I saw the Princess Bride connection (too late) I realized that's gotta be it.  I mean it.  "Anybody want a peanut?"
