Worst song(s) in the history of songs.
« on: April 17, 2007, 08:28:45 PM »
Tough one here. Rules......since I can tell this thread will need them

no covers (so many awful ones.)
No song that only 3 people heard  ;D

first nominees

"Afternoon Delight"- Starland vocal band
"My humps"- Blackeyed peas
"Mmmbop"- Hanson
"Because I got high"- Afroman
It wasnt because he was high, it was because he was retarded. nothing against the mentally challenged, I have nothing against getting high

Ok thats it for now

The Ood: The Beast and his armies will rise from the pit to make war against God.
Rose: I'm sorry?
The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

"Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro.   The majority of songs where a loved one dies.  "Last Kiss" is about the only good one of the type.

All Apologies by Nirvana.

Simplistic, nonsensical, painful. It embodies everything I hate about the anti-establishment crowd. It features Kurt Cobain sounding like a drunken hobo after a long night and a crowd of gawkers to impress. It sucks the life out of all who hear it.

"Hello" by Lionel Richie, and "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.  I hate these songs because not only are they insipid love ballads, but because they almost negate the awesomeness of their previous work in the 70's.

Apparently Sharky and Kodiak have no taste in music  ::)

that said I'd go with "she bangs" by that American Idol guy (I know its a cover, but that doesn't stop it from being the worst song in history)

bad rap is especially funny in my opinion, I'd go with Juvenile "Ha"

or Paul Wall "grillz"

Why, because I nominated that Nirvana "song"?

Give me one good reason why that song is not crap. Keeping in mind, that I am referring to the MTV live version back in the day.

Though I dont agree with your nirvana nomination, I'll defend to the death your right to hate it, however the previous pearl jam cover nomination does not count as it is a cover, therefore the original is worse  ;D And actually I think that original was worse, since it was about such a horrible thing, but sounded almost like you could dance to it. The pearl jam version made me cry the first time I heard it, really sad song. I dont like it, but it's sad.

As long as everyone does not base their reasons on the fact that they like a particular group, then I'm fine with any arguements they may have. Just because I consider Toad the Wet Sprocket my favorite band of all time, does not mean there aren't a couple songs they've done that I don't detest. There's plenty of Nirvana songs that I love. There's plenty I don't care for, but only one of them, so far, I consider putrid crap.

Are we allowing hilariously horrible lyrics? Because I still think nothing will ever beat Macarthur Park on that one.

well, lyrics would count if the song overall was your worst. I heard good songs before with very bad lyrics.

kodiak- yeah I get ya, there's a lot of bands like that, here I'll say it, I like dmb, however only his early stuff. I refuse to listen to the new stuff and wont see him in concert, but I love songs like "two step"
