in regards to jar jar, with this movie we DO learn one thing, the empororer was ONLY able to take control of the senate and thus become the emperor because jar jar was duped into tabling a motion.  Therefore everything REALLY REALLY is jar jars fault

This is one reason why I waited until Lucas released both theatrical and mangled versions of the movie. I like the original Boba Fett voice because it sounds more tough and menacing.

Interesting detail, the reason the Geonosans (mud wasps) were shown with plans for the Death Star was a response to Kevin Smith according to Lucas' commentary.  The infamous rant about Return of the Jedi in Clerks apparently got back to Lucas, the one where Randal goes on about how the people building the second Death Star were killed despite being independent contractors and not necessarily evil.  Lucas established that these evil aliens were behind the design of the Death Star to show that indeed evil was punished both times the Death Star was blown off.

I'm posting this in the stupidest things thread because of how Lucas completely missed the point.  He established the designers of the Death Star were evil, ignoring the fact that someone else probably was doing the physical building.  Whoops.
