  • Hello!
"This is MST3K!" on YouTube!
« on: April 16, 2007, 08:50:19 AM »
Oh my gods!  What a great thing, this is!  I had never seen this, but heard people talking about it on the forums here.  I got the impression that it was hosted by NPH but it was hosted by Penn Joillet!!!  NPH is in it, (so young, as Doogie Howser!), as a fan, but it was hosted by the Man Himself, Penn!

I'm so giddy!  I have watched it three times now, it is hilarious...

Check it out... www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeVrmpn5cIw&mode=user&search=

Let's all thank "Kidneystone123" (?) for his contribution, and all of my apologies to Best Brains for posting this if they are upset about the infringement... but what a great tribute this special was to the genius of these people!  And see how young Mike and Kevin looked!  It's awesome, what a great opportunity this YouTube thing affords us... (am I being too effusive?).

If you haven't seen it, check it ASAP.... I'm going back for another viewing... seeya!

Hilarious, I had never seen that before.

Amazing how close this show came to never being on TV.

The critics that they interviewed were fairly well placed, I mean, "NY Times", "Entertainment Weekly", of course Matt Roush of "TV Guide", "NY Post", many other well resepcted critics were really gushing over it.

And the "man on the street interviews" were awesome, they said pretty much everything I have always thought about the show.  Great stuff.

That single question mark after Kindeystone123 really says it all.

Thanks, Randy. I've never seen this before, either. And thank you, Mister Kindneystone. I hope all your painful experiences have passed.

I remember seeing this a long time ago, when it first aired on TV.
I think I might even have had it on VHS back then.

Seeing it again is great!

Great riffs in it.

And on part four of four at 3:46 I swear to god I know those two girls, that they were in my same high school class.

Watching it now, I'm weirded out seeing Penn Jillette when he was my age.

Wow, proof that just because you CAN podcast, that does not mean that you SHOULD podcast.

He's the American South's very own Richard Taylor! Anyone who's watched the LOTR documentaries will know what I'm talking about.

As I recall, that little feature was roundly criticized by the MST3k community when it was released... I never understood why, I always found it to be enjoyable.

Has Rifftrax contacted these people? They're fans, and they may be in a great position to promote Rifftrax as the successor to MST3k.

Probably worried that helping promote and explain the show to laymen would make the show more mainstream, and therefore, less cool. Cause you know, anything popular must suck. :P

My connection is so slow, it takes so long to watch these videos.  Gah.

I don't think I could do a podcast.  I'd forget what I was talking about and just freeze up.   And cry.

Sounds like the making of an internet sensation...... "The Crying Forgetful Woman".
